"I...I'm sorry Soobin. I was childish, stupid, ignorant, selfish— whatever the hell you wanna call me, I don't care because it's all true!"
Warm and salty tears run down the dejected boy's rosy cheeks. (Which the older boy couldn't differentiate if it was between the effect of the brisk air or anxiousness being held in the younger's body.)
"Why would you do that to me Beomgyu?"
"I-"
"WHY WOULD YOU?! HUH?!" The older boy screams, his warm breath visible in the contrasting air.
"Stop yelling at me! I'm sorry! I really am!"
The boy shoots up from his often occurring nightmare.
"Forgive me! Please! I'm begging-"
"Hyung!" Taehyun, busts into his room after recognizing this reoccurring episode.
"Why won't he forgive me!!" The boy sobs and screams.
Taehyun puts his hand over one of Beomgyu's hands.
"Hyung, please calm do-"
"Don't touch me!!" He screams, kicking his legs under his blanket.
Though Taehyun was strong enough, he didn't want to risk hurting or getting hurt by his best friend.
"Yeonjun hyung!" The younger boy yells.
Yeonjun then makes his way to Beomgyu's room, half asleep and panicked.
"What happened??" He asks worriedly.
He is then realizing the scene in front of him.
He walks up to the bed that the sobbing boy is sitting at.
"Beomgyu-"
"Shut up!!! Nobody ever understands me!" He continues his screaming and sobbing.
"BEOMGYU!" The older yells sternly while grabbing the screaming boy's wrists.
"LET GO!!!" He screams.
This only makes Yeonjun hold him tighter, and it overwhelms the younger causing him to cry too.
"N-no please don't cry Taehyun..." Yeonjun begs.
"Hyung, please! We're only trying to help!" Taehyun yells at Beomgyu between sobs.
And that's when the boy snaps out of it.
His best friend, his hyung-like little brother is crying.
His intentions weren't to make him cry. He didn't like seeing any of his friends or hyungs cry. But especially Taehyun. He hated seeing it.
He stops resisting Yeonjun and his screams and loud sobs slowly turn into quiet sniffles.
Once he's back to his conscience, he speaks at a calm tone.
"Yeonjun hyung, can you let me go?...please." He asks.
Yeonjun then looses his grip on the boys wrists.
"I-I'm sorry for screaming at you..." He apologizes to Yeonjun, still sniffling.
He turns to Taehyun, meeting his also puffy and red eyes.
"Come here." Beomgyu reaches his arms out. He holds the smaller boy into his own embrace as they both sob. "I-I'm so sorry for m-making you cry."
"It's okay hyung but-"
"No Taehyun, it's not okay. I shouldn't have acted this way in front of you as well as Yeonjun hyung...it's just I can't control it and- and it's like a monster is inside me."
Yeonjun sits on the other side of the boy and rubs circles on his back.
"Beomgyu...you need to get help. And I'm being serious, Taehyun can't be your one on one therapist whenever you have these nightmares. What if we have a sleep over with Kai and this were to happen? He'd be scared out of his life because he doesn't know anything about this."
And it's true.
Kai is Yeonjun's little brother who's still a college freshman.
Despite all the boys being in college, Hueningkai is the only one who still lives with him and Yeonjun's parents since he chose not to leave home until he finishes school.
Yeonjun on the other hand decided to leave home, and rent an apartment with two of his friends who he later introduced Kai to.
Yeonjun is extremely protective over Kai, and tries to limit the amount of drama he shares with him so he doesn't worry about his hyungs.
Which means that Kai is completely oblivious to these episodes that his hyung goes through almost every night at the dorm.
"I know hyung." He and Taehyun let go of each other. "Im selfish...that's what I am. Just selfish..."
"Beomgyu, don't talk nonsense now-"
"Be realistic hyung." Taehyun interrupts Yeonjun. "Yes Beomgyu, you're right. You're very selfish. I'm trying my best to be here for you, and you're always here for us. We always take your advice...so how come you can't take ours?" The three boys sit in silence for a good 2 minutes.
Beomgyu then checks his phone that was under his pillow.
"Go back to sleep guys...it's almost 6 in the morning and class starts in 4 hours. I don't wanna interrupt your sleep again."
The two boys stand up and sigh.
Yeonjun pats Beomgyu's shoulder. "Try to get some sleep Gyu." He then walks out of the bedroom, leaving the younger ones by themselves.
"You need to talk to someone hyung..." The two stay silent. "I...I miss you." Taehyun says. "I miss the happy you."
Those were Taehyuns last words for the night before leaving Beomgyu's room.
The alone boy lays his back to the bed, eyes on the ceiling.
"Me too..." he whispers, almost inaudible to himself. "I miss being happy too...I miss him."
