Kakashi’s POV:

I woke up and stared at the ceiling. ‘I think I over did it with my Sharingan…’ I thought.

“Waking up, huh? Are you alright?” Tsunami asked.

“I’ve been better. It’ll be a week before I can move normally,” I replied, sitting up.

“See? It’s better if you don’t move, so just lie down.”

I sighed. “Right.”

I lay back down, and Sakura, Sasuke, Naruto, and Tazuna walked in. “Look, the sensei’s coming around,” Naruto said.

Sakura walked over and kneeled next to me. “Listen, sensei. Your Sharingan is amazing and everything, but if it puts that much strain on you, maybe it’s not worth it.”

“Sorry,” I muttered.

“Heh. Well, you did take down one of the most powerful ninja assassins, so we’ll be safe for a while,” Tazuna said.

“Right. But, you know that boy with the mask? What about him?”

“He’s from the elite tracking unit of the Village Hidden in the Mist. Those masks are only worn by the most elite Shinobi.”

“What exactly do they do?” Sakura asked.

“The ANBU black ops, also known as the Inferno squad, destroy all traces of a rouge ninja’s corpse. The Shinobi’s body contains many secrets. Nin jutsu, chakra, special medicines used on his body. These are the secrets of his village. If his enemies find him, his village will be in grave danger. For instance, if I were to die at the hands of an enemy, he would try to analyze my Sharingan. In the worst case, my entire jutsu could be stolen and used against our own village. It is the secret duty of the Shinobi trackers to prevent this, to keep the village secrets safe. If a ninja betrays his village, the trackers hunt him down, eliminating him, and obliterate every trace of his existence. That’s their specialty.”

“Ok, you four. Lunch is ready,” Tsunami said, and they left. “I’ll bring you your lunch, so you just stay there,” she said.

I nodded, then realized someone was missing. “Where’s Ai?”

She looked slightly hesitant. “She had a heavy coughing fit late last night. We moved her to her own room. She still hasn’t woken up.”

“Thanks for ratting me out, un…,” Ai muttered. I looked over and saw her leaning against the doorway, wearing a simple jeans, tank top, and jacket outfit, and looking more tired than I probably did.

“You ok?”

“Quit your worrying and get some rest, un. I can’t heal you right now, so you’ll have to let your body do it for you, un.”

“Are you going to be ok?” I asked again.

She rolled her eyes and walked over to me, then crouched next to me. “I said sleep, and now you’re going to sleep, un,” she said, and the last thing I saw was her Sharingan.

Ai’s POV:

“Should you really have knocked him out like that?” Tsunami asked.

I stood shakily and leaned on my sword for support. “I don’t think it matters, un. If anything, it’ll make him sleep harder, getting his energy back faster, un.” I looked at her. “Can I ask a favor, un?”
