After the funeral, everyone began to leave the area leaving it clear and quiet suddenly a figure approached the fresh grave showing a blank stare at the tombstone,

Mae Estacado, Loving daughter, and sibling

He removed his sunglasses carrying one single red rose as he kneeled,

No regret or guilt-filled within him as he started to speak,

"You could have had everything baby girl, I would have spoiled you rotten like a queen but you-you never listened or ever gave me a chance to, and look what you've done, you did this to yourself... And deep down I've started to love you, I love you, Mae, I do and now that you're gone, I still love you and I will keep loving you until the day I die... I love you, Mae"

Kyle spoke in a deep whisper then kissed the rose and placed it down on the coffin as he stood.

He took a deep breath while scanning the cemetery and with one last look, Kyle walked away putting back on his glasses.

It may be over but that doesn't mean Kyle's infatuation will ever fade away, Mae's beautiful, face still marks his mind including his dreams as years pass on,

He still loves her and won't ever love another......

That was until the equivalent face sparked his obsession once again...

Mae O'Rorke | 18 years later:

I ran and ran until sweat beads drip down my forehead, The pounding beat I felt against my chest was due to my heart while I kept running down the sidewalk. The sun glazing down added to my body heat and sweat.

I loved it

Returning home from my usual jog, I take my earbuds out shaking off the muscle tension in my legs knowing my exercise is complete for today.

I felt good working out and luminous then I head inside in desperation need of water.

Entering the empty kitchen, I opened the fridge grabbing a bottle of water.

I drank it until it was empty and tossed it into the recycling bin underneath the countertop.

My mother was nowhere to be seen or heard which is nothing new, She tends to be busy with work lately.

Mom happens to be an excellent architect in the city and my father is an executive, unfortunately, my parents haven't seen eye to eye for years which also explains they've bitterly divorced a year ago.

It didn't take dad long to enter another relationship three months later, moving out into a new penthouse along with his girlfriend.

Speaking of which, my mother, Regina enters the kitchen holding an empty teacup as she holds a book in the other.
