Upon hearing about an attack in the Massachusetts suburbs in Boston, Shield Director Fury sent Tony Stark and Steve Rogers to investigate, and try to find any clues as to what had warranted the bombing, that had absolutely devastated the area. They didn't think anybody had survived the attack, how anybody would have would have to be a miracle. From the destruction that had been left it was obvious to the superhero duo that it had been Hydra, or at east a copycat organisation to both S.H.I.E.L.Ds and the Avengers nemesis. They where about to leave the scene, report back to Fury there limited findings when they spotted a yellow glow from from underneath the rubble of an apartment complex. It was then they realised that someone had survived.
When the bricks where blasted away from on top of Arryn the only emotion that she felt was scared. Absolutely petrified. Her shivering body gave her saviours a hint as that she was alive, how she was alive the didn't know it was that question and the matter of her identity that was playing in the heroic duos minds. They couldn't figure out how a human, how this girl could survive. There was definitely something different about her. The way she grasped her head in her hands when she was free of her confines, even the way she spoke was different, alien like. Of course these two beings where used to strange creatures and enhanced humans, having just found the pair of enhanced twins in Sokovia. By now it had become the norm, if someone wasn't different in some way or form, that was the unusual.
Arryn had noticed them before they even found her, she felt their presence, heard them moving the rubble that surrounded her. She just couldn't read their auras. Couldn't determine whether these were true my saviours or captors in disguise. She didn't have much of a choice though as one of the figure picked her up. As the other figure drew nearer one of the names on her scarred wrist began to tingle, making her flinch ever so slightly, which didn't go unnoticed by the man holding her. Before he could even ask her if she was okay she passed out. Using all that energy to hold up a protective barrier was very tiring.
When she woke up, Arryn found herself in a hospital robe, a drip attached to her arm and an unfamiliar face sitting in the chair next to the bed that she currently resided in.
"Who are you? Where am I? Where are my siblings? What happened? Am I in a hospital, I can't afford this.." her voice had started to get increasing higher at each question being asked, tears beginning to for in her eyes. Before she could get anymore worked up the stranger began to speak.
""One question at a time sweet cheeks, I am Tony Stark..." he got no response so he tried again, "Ironman..." still nothing, his eyebrows began to form a from. To say he was confused was an understatement, usually people recognised his name, he continued anyway. "Nothing... anyway I am one of the people who save you, you know the one in the gold and red suit. Anyway, yes, you are in a hospital, don't worry I'll pay for the treatment you have received, don't worry," he reassured, "would you be able to tell me your name sweet cheeks, then I might be able to find your siblings, without a name I can't promise anything." He headed a muffled whisper, but was unable to distinguish what the girl in front of her was saying, "Could you speak up sweet cheeks, I can't hear what you are saying." There was a short pause before Arryn started to giggle.
"Arryn Carter,"
"Huh?"
"My name, Arryn Carter, or are you loosing your memory as well as your hearing old man?"
"When you are finished here would you mind coming with me to New York? It'll be better for us to find your siblings....what did you say their names where again?"
"I didn't, you didn't ask, but, Alaska and Xavier Carter." She responded, unsure at how to continue, she sat staring at Tony, low in her own thoughts for a while, before long she began to remember information that could be deemed crucial in the search for her siblings. "Tilgate Woods" she blurted.
"Huh?" Tony questioned shocked at the sudden outburst of information from the relatively quiet girl.
"Tilgate Woods, that's where they said to meet, in a bunker there or something. I can't quite remember the code to activate the door but it's in Tilgate Woods." Before Tony Stark could question her anymore a nurse walked in to the room, asking for the room to be cleared in order to check up on Arryn's progress.
When the nurse exited the room, Tony was sat waiting in the corridor, in such a short amount of time he felt compelled to care for the girl laying in the hospital bed. He hadn't spoken to her for long, but he knew she was special, and he wanted to make sure she was okay.
"She's free to be discharged, just make sure she eats regularly and stays away from strenuous tasks for a little while, that girl has been through the wars and back with the state of her body." The nurse told Tony before walking off down the corridor to check on another patient. Just as she left, Steve Rogers, came strolling through the ward in Tony's direction a cup of coffee in his left hand, his right hand rubbing at his lefty wrist.
"One, where have you been? Two, the girl is going to come back to headquarters with us." Tony spoke to his friend, before turning to enter Arryn's room.
"Okay then, I'll make sure the car is sorted and the driver is waiting out front." He replied, before turning, chucking his cup into a nearby bin, and walking back to the front of the hospital.
