The tube was a ruckus as always, a crowd of people wandering about with a destination in mind. Brown curls moved with each step taken and deep green eyes scanned the schedule to see when his train would be leaving, and it would be quite soon, in fact it was now when it would leave. Those brown curls bounced now that he was running for the train hoping to get there in time, but just as he got to the door it closed and his hands slapped the glass.
“Shit. . .” his expression turned sour and his hands slid from the door then took a few steps back now that train started its leave. He looked around pondering on what he would do now and rubbed at his forehead then raked his fingers through his hair. He was supposed to be seeing someone but this was going to be a problem if his train left, and the next train expected to be boarding wouldn’t be until an hour so the person would probably have left by then. Frustration set in his eyes as he tore his ticket in half then walked out of the tube after having passed through the sea of strangers with a sour attitude, he ignored everyone with a frown painted on his lips and looked for a place to settle.
It was a little café shop that caught his attention, the smells of ground coffee and the sweet lure of creams brought him to the door to walk inside. He looked around at the warm atmosphere of the shop and walked to gaze at the menu. There was quite a selection they had and he nearly jumped being startled.
“Hello, welcome. Is there anything you would like?” A foreign voice said and he looked to the small girl who wore what looked to be the uniform for this place, then stared at the name tag to see the name Rita.
“Uh yeah . . .Rita.” he said then looked to the board again and just decided on a coffee as he didn’t feel quite as adventurous today to try some of the odd names for some of the caffeinated drinks they had.
“A coffee? Anything else?” she asked as she pressed buttons of the cash register with her eyes downcast, set on the machine she was working.
“Uh no . . . just a coffee plain will do.” He said while he watched Rita do her job.
“And your name is?”
“What?”
“Your name sir, I need your name so that I can call you when your drink is done.”
“Oh . . . Harry.” He answered not feeling the brightest right now, but at least she was nice. He wasn’t exactly in the best of moods because of what had happened earlier.
“Alright Harry, please find a seat and your drink will be with you soon.” Rita smiled as she gestured towards one of the many tables for him to seat and get comfortable.
“Thank you.” Harry said quietly as he awkwardly looked for a seat to sit and decided on the one in the corner. That way he could have a good distance away from everyone, and took his seat while shedding off his coat. The weather was nippy as it was the middle of fall and it was sprinkling outside. Those droplets of water felt like ice stabbing into the core of your body when walking the streets, it was one of the luxuries of living in London sometimes. Harry sat there watching people from where he was and tried to come up with their life stories out of pure boredom. A sigh left his lips as he moved his gaze on someone else, and his body grew stiff as he laid his eyes on them.
“Harry?” An Irish accent filled the area and Harry smiled happy to see an old friend.
“Niall, what are you doing here?” Harry asked sitting up straighter, he had met Niall at a camp when his family took a vacation to see the island neighboring Britain and met this loud, carefree lad. He watched Niall pull out a seat and sit down.
