'Mum?' I ask when come home. The house is dark and extremely quiet. I hear a door open and close and jump a little.
'Perrie? Are you there?' My mum's voice comes from upstairs.
'Uhm, yes?' I half ask.
'Ok sweetie, come upstairs as fast as possible.' She says hastily. I raise my eyebrow, but do what she says. I'm used to mum's panic attacks by now. She get's them not very often, but sometimes she just has them, and you just have to go with it. I've learned that a long time ago.
I take my time going upstairs. There's probably nothing going on, so I just can take my time.
'Perrie, a little faster would me nice.' She says. I mentally roll my eyes, but just fake-smile and get upstairs a little quicker. When I'm upstairs, she gives me a quick hug and then gestures for me to walk in front of her.
'What room?' I ask, already knowing the answer.
'Jonnie's.' She says quietly. She always goes into his room, because she feels safer there. I don't really know why, 'cause my room is smells nicer in my opinion.
Mum pushes me a little and I can't hold myself any longer.
'Why are we doing this?' I ask.
'Just, go inside.' My mother demands. We are standing in front of Jonnie's room, but I won't get inside, before I get an answer.
'Why?' I ask again, crossing my arms. She sighs.
'Because he can be here every seco...-' she gets interrupted by a loud bang from the door, followed by footsteps. I tense up and my mother's eyes widen. I quickly get inside Jonnie's room and she follows me.
I sit on the edge of his bed, and my mother sits on the desk, playing with her fingers, trying not to show her nervousness.
The footsteps become louder and louder when the man comes upstairs. Who could even be this man? I hear him walking past our door and they become softer, what means he's walking downstairs. I sigh in relief. Only to early.
Suddenly my phone rings and my mum's eyes widen in shock. The footsteps stop and become louder again. I gesture for my mother to pretend she's cleaning. I stand up and pick up the phone. Maybe the caller can help us.
'Yes?' I whisper, my voice raspy.
'Perrie?' His voice asks.
'Zayn?' I ask surprised, and despite the fear I'm feeling right now, I feel something else too, not sure what exactly.
'Yea. Why are you whispering?' He asks, whispering too.
'Well, I'm in deep shi..-' Our phone call got disturbed by the door opening loudly, revealing the man. I look at my mother, whose fear's shown in her eyes. This man is my father.
'Perrie?' Zayn's voice sounds through the phone. My dad's gaze falls on me and I almost drop the phone.
'Perrie, what the fuck is going on?' He wants to know. I slowly place the phone against my ear again, still looking at my dad, waiting for him to say something.
'Listen Zayn, I..-' I start.
'Perrie Louise Edwards, drop your damn phone now!' He shouts and I jump a little.
'Wait, is that you dad?' He asks.
'Yea..' I answer, not dropping the phone like he said.
