Charlie Bucket was no different then any other child out there. He was no weaker or stronger. His family wasn't rich, powerful or well-connected. They barely had enough food to eat. Charlie was one of the luckiest kids in the world... he just didn't know it yet.

As soon as Charlie would finish school he would walk to his tiny house at the end of the town. He was very dedicated to his school work and would do his homework as soon as he got home. Being poor meant he didn't have much to do so it would always kill time for him. However his family was always good entertainment and time was always well spent, they might not have all the money in the world but they have something a lot of family's don't have... love. Everyone in the family cared for each other and no one took anything for granted. Mr Bucket had just finished work and has come home. "Evening buckets!" He said smiling taking off his coat and making his way over to Mrs Bucket. "Evening" said the four grandparents sharing a double bed. "Hi dad!" Shouted charlie excitedly, despite the state the family were in he always had a smile on his face and that smile would make everyone day 1000 times better. Mr Bucket went over to Mrs Bucket giving her a kiss and saying hello. Mrs Bucket always had hope in her. "Is there anything to go with the cabbage soup?" She asked just to receive a shake of the head from Mr Bucket. She slightly smiled and replied to him "oh well, I suppose nothing goes better with cabbage then cabbage" and chopped up some more cabbage.

"Charlie I have something I think you might like" said Mr bucket giving Charlie some toothpaste caps. Charlie smiled and said "it's just the piece I needed !!" Mr Bucket sat down and had a read through the newspaper. Charlie got up and ran to the cupboard pulling out a tiny model of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. He took one of the toothpaste caps and put it on the top of a body he had made. "What is it Charlie?" Asked Grandpa Joe. To witch Charlie replied "dad found it !! Just the piece I needed... the head of Willy Wonka" Grandpa Joe looked at what Charlie has made and realised how similar Charlie's model was to the actual factory AND Mr Wonka himself. Grandpa Joe then told Charlie that he used to work for Mr Wonka himself. Mrs Bucket finished making the cabbage soup and gave everyone a bowl of it.

While eating Grandpa Joe was telling Charlie about how Prince Pondicherry wanted a palace made entirely out of chocolate but wanted to live in it instead of eating it and how Willy Wonka had a small shop on cherry street as a start to his business. He then said that loads of other candy makers had become jealous of Willy Wonka and sent in spies to take his secret recipes, Charlie was shocked that anyone would do that especially since Mr Wonka was working so hard.
Grandpa Joe: "One day the stealing got so bad that Mr Wonka has sent all of his workers home without warning telling us he was closing his factory forever"
Charlie : "but it didn't close forever the factory is still open now"
Mrs Bucket: "well sometimes when adults say forever they mean a very long time"
Grandpa George: "and I feel like I've been eating cabbage soup forever"
Mr Bucket: "now pops!" He said with a stern look.
Grandma Josephine : "the factory did close charlie"
Grandpa Joe: "and it did feel like it was going to close forever... but one day we saw smoke rising from the chimney again... it was a miracle"
Charlie: "did you get your job back?"
Grandpa Joe: "no... no one did"
Charlie: "but there must be people working there... who's running the machines ?"
Grandma Joesphine: "Charlie do you ever see anyone going into that factory... or coming out of it?"
Charlie: "no the gates are always closed"
Grandpa George: "exactly"
Grandpa Joe: "I would give anything in the world to see that amazing factory again..."
Grandpa George: "but you won't, because you can't. No one can"
Grandpa Joe just frowned.
Mrs Bucket: "come on Charlie, let's let your grandparents sleep"
Charlie said goodnight to each one of his grandparents. When he hugged Grandma Georgina she said something that made Charlie smile:
Grandma Georgina: "nothing's impossible Charlie"
Charlie went upstairs and shouted goodnight one last time. He layed down in his bed and turned the light off, he got under his blanket and looked out the hole in the roof which had a direct view of Wonka'a factory. Charlie dazed off dreaming of how amazing it would be to step foot in that factory.
