Hopelessly in love.

A knocking sound echoed through your room and startled you. Quickly you raised your head, looking behind you to your door. That's when you noticed that you actually couldn't see much, because your room was drowning in darkness. Seems like you had fallen asleep without noticing it. You rubbed your eyes, before standing up and dragging yourself to your door. But you hesitated to open it. You didn't knew who would be on the other side. It could be your mother or Akihiko. But it also could be Len and you weren't ready to see him now. Carefully you leaned yourself against the door, pressing your ear against it and hoping you would be able to hear something that would give away, who was waiting there. Unfortunately, you heard nothing. You heaved a sigh and pulled back again. "Maybe I should just open it. If it's Len, I still can just close the door again." With this on your mind, you unlocked the door and eventually opened it.

It surprised you as you actually saw no one. But then your gaze fell on a tray that was placed on the ground. As soon as you saw the delicious food on it, your stomach grumbled, reminding you that you didn't eat something the whole day. "I'm sure that was mum... She's probably worried, because I didn't come down to eat dinner." Quickly you picked it up and went back into your room, turning on the light and closing the door behind you. You returned to your desk and sat down again, placing the tray in front of you. Just as you were about to start eating, you suddenly noticed something else. A folded paper was placed right next to the plate. You picked it up and unfolded it, reading what was written down on it.

Your mother was worried, because you didn't come to dinner. I told her that you aren't feeling well today and just need some time to rest. She asked me to bring you something to eat, but since you don't wanna see me, I just placed it in front of your door. Anyway, I'm sure you haven't eaten the whole day. So please, eat something, okay? Even if you aren't hungry. I hope you get some rest and feel better tomorrow. You probably don't want to hear this now, but if you need anything, I'm next door. You can send me a message or even come to me, whenever you want, even in the middle of the night.

Speechless you stared at the letter you've received from Len. After everything that happened between you and him; After you yelled at him and pushed him away, he still was worried about you and your well-being? Why? You couldn't understand it. Your eyes moved to the butterfly charm, that still laid on your desk and you thought back to the time you had spend with him on that day. You remembered how much fun the both of you had, the smile he had on his face and the way he looked at you as he told you that he likes you. All of this made your heart beat faster. You wanted that time back. The things couldn't stay like they were now.

Suddenly you jumped out of your seat and went to your bed, picking up your phone. Your finger hovered over the screen and for a second you hesitated. Last night you send him a message and that didn't end well. If you would send him one now, what would happen? Would he be mad again? Should you really risk it? You weren't sure. Although he wrote that you could come to him or send a message, you were afraid. You shook your head, trying to get rid of those negative thoughts. If you wanted that everything would be the way it was, then you had to do something. And you had to do it now. You tapped on the application on your phone and opened his past message. Quickly you wrote a very short message and send it to him.

To: Cute Idiot
Thank you, Len.

Now you went back to your desk and dropped down in your chair, your eyes not once leaving the phone. You waited, one question after another filling your head. Did he already read it? Would he answer you? Was he happy that you send him a message now? All of this, you wanted to know. Your heart sped up in anticipation as a notification popped up. You had one new unread message. And it was from him. Yet again, you hesitated. Were you ready for it? Could you cope with whatever he had send you? You took a deep breath. Yes, you were ready. Tapping on the screen, you finally opened the message and read it.
