Accepted: Chapter 1
The doorbell rang downstairs and I yelled "hold on, I'll be there in a sec!" I bounded down the stairs and ran to the front door. After opening it, I saw that no one was there. Huh, I thought, looking up and down the street. That's when I noticed an envelope lying in front of me on the porch. It was silver and blue with dark blue lettering. I picked it up and took it inside with me. Reading the front of the envelope, I was surprised to see that it was addressed to me. Why would someone send me something, I thought. What was weirder about it was that there was no address on the front. Just a name; Simon Bradley.
It read:
Hello, Ms. Davis. Congratulations! You have been selected, out of many, to attend my academy, SilverLight Academy for the Young and Talented,
as a student. It would be an honor of mine to have you attend school here. SilverLight was founded by me for gifted children like yourself. I am not able to tell you much about the school in this letter, but if you do attend, you will be more properly informed. Please talk this over with your parents and call me with your answer. Thank you for your time and please make your decision wisely. Do not share information about SilverLight or this letter with anyone but your parents. This is because SilverLight is highly exclusive and elite.
Sincerely,
Simon Bradley

Wow, was all I could think after reading. I mean, this guy wanted me to attend his school and couldn't even tell me anything about it. Suddenly, a realization occurred to me; I never applied. So how could I be chosen? How does he even know my name or my address? My parents couldn't have done this, the letter says to talk it over with them. And what does he mean by "for gifted children" like me? Surely he couldn't know about- could he?
