The Karitori-ki

Planning

The portal closed behind me as I strode down the hallway. I ignored the bows as I went down the corridor towards the war room, with everyone following behind me. I gained a serious expression as I walked into the war room.

"Your highness," was the collective greeting around the room. Scanning quickly I saw the representatives of the elementals, other animal tribes, and other demon classes as well. I noticed a tall, serious, black haired dragon demon standing away from the others. Takeshi. I gave a nod in his direction which he returned. I turned back to all the representatives.

"What's the situation and how bad?" I commanded, being in military mode. A koorime approached me, being the only one brave enough right now apparently.

Bowing slightly she gave me a review, "A few weeks after you disappeared sixteen years ago, there seemed to be unrelated cases of bandits attacking towns occasionally. After a while they became more frequent and a pattern seem to appear. Then 6 years ago a demon going by the name Moren appeared." I raised a eyebrow, Moren? This guy must be a new player since this is first time I heard the name.

Curious I asked, "What's his objective?"

She hesitated, but with a look she answered, "To destroy all dimensions." My eyes widened a fraction then narrowed. Immediately I started to bark out orders.

Ares's pov

This Moren guy wants to destroy all dimensions?! What's going to happen? I thought in shock. I looked over to Eon. This is the first time I've seen him serious ever ever, and it honestly scares me. I think I'm starting to get why he's king in the first place. I felt a hand on my shoulder and saw Casey looking down at me.

"Are you surprised Eon can be serious?" He asked and chuckled when I nodded. "You're not the only one. Since he has a carefree attitude and completely insane, people tend to forget that he has the ability to be serious. But Eon rarely gets serious so it scares people. It's the same with his rage mode; he almost never gets to that angry breaking point. I can honestly say that I can count the number of times  that he's gotten angry or serious on only my hands."

I was mulling over that information when I noticed the meeting was over.

Eon's pov

I concluded the meeting with a final overview of the troops. I turned to my human friends and family asking, "Do you guys have any questions?" Mori raised his hand enthusiastic.

"How do you identify the species of demons?" he asked me. I was surprised a little by the question.

I answered him with the short version, "We identify demons by category, class, and species. Category being animal, elemental, ya know things like that. Class is what group something belongs to like canine, feline, water, and earth. Species is pretty obvious with how foxes are canines." Judging by the faces of my dad, Ares, and Fumio I would be grilled more later. Sitting straight, I was beginning to hear footsteps from the hallway. Two pairs walking sturdy and confidently, and the other pair stumbling occasionally.

I turned to the door which just started to open.

(CLIFFHANGER!!!! MWUHAHAHAHA!

Yeah this is a short chapter but at least I updated right? *Dodges rotten fruit and assorted objects* HMPH! Anyway sorry for the delay and guess what? Next chapter we introduce a new character and we get to talk to Takeshi. Hehe alliteration.
