Chapter 9: I'm a genius(sort of)

As I stood there staring at the wall, I heard the dogs barking and started to panic slightly.

"What do I do? What do I do?" I whispered to myself as I paced back and forth. I started to remember all the situations me and Erica had been in and what she would always do to get us out of them. Nothing was exactly fitting to my predicament so I sighed and shrugged my shoulders.

'I'm pretty sure this might work' I thought to myself as I tip toed down the hallway. "Time to wing it" I whispered then I took off running in the opposite direction. As I looked back to see if the dogs or anyone was after me, I ran into a door.

"Ow! Who puts a door here?" I said before I heard the dogs barking and it was reeeally close. I checked to see if the door was unlocked and almost face palmed since it was, I went inside and stayed as silent as possible. Once I heard the dogs and some people run by did I decided to see where I entered.

"Is this.....a toy factory??" I said as I looked at boxes full of toys. Correction, chew toys. This was a factory that made toys for animals, great.

"This guy has issues if this is his 'secret' lair." I said before I thought of a great idea, well the beginning of one. I grabbed as many toys as possible and then left and ran in the direction I heard everyone heading.

Once I turned the corner and saw them I kind of froze and so did they.

"Uhhhh, hi?" I said before they all started running towards me, shouting. That's when I started throwing the toys at them. The dogs got distracted by them, proving how well trained they were, and managed to stall the goons long enough for me to run by and out a door that led to a....forest?

"Really?" I said before running into and climbing one of the trees. "Guess I'm camping here for a bit." I muttered to myself before making myself comfortable. It was a struggle since bark is annoying and painful but eventually, I found a decent enough position. I had almost dozed off when I heard a lot of footsteps run by. I looked down and saw them running in the distance.

"Idiots" I said while climbing down "Guess I'll follow them, maybe I can get out of this creepy forest." As I walked along I kept an ear out for any sound of footsteps, I hid behind bushes and trees when they were too close. A lot later, I came upon an abandoned car and prayed that it worked as I began the process of hotwiring it. When it started, I nearly cried. As I was driving away I remembered those idiots letting themselves be captured. I scowled before screaming in frustration.

"Guess it's up to me to save their sorry asses." I said before I drove towards the mansion, taking back roads since I'm not a good driver in society's eyes.

When I entered and saw Alfred waiting for us (me since I'm alone) and I broke down crying and explaining what happened. He led me to my room and let me rest before bringing me some food to eat. It had been a very stressful night but I knew it wasn't over.

"Thank you Alfred but I have to go save them," I said. "Could you help me?"

"Of course I will Miss Chloe" he said while gathering my food tray. I smiled and followed him down to the bat cave. There, he showed me a bat suit that looked to be my size.

"Is this...for me?" I asked as I lightly touched the fabric. It was soft and hard at the same time which I hope means it's comfortable but protective.

"Indeed it is miss. Master Wayne had specially made for you for when you started and finished your training." He said while pulling it off the mannequin and handing it to me.

I took it and looked up at him before saying "I have no fighting skills and am generally a clumsy person."

"You do not need any to help them out of their predicament miss. Your brain will help you set them loose and they can do the fighting for you." He said. I looked down at the suit before smiling and running to put it on. Once I came out he led me to a motor bike that looked like a traffic light.

"This is Master Robin's bike and should be easy to drive" he said. I snickered and couldn't wait to make fun of him for it. I was also a little nervous since I had never driven a motorcycle but ym entire plan was 'wing it' so I may as well continue.

"Thank you Alfred, I'll bring the home so you can scold them okay?" I said while hugging him. He hugged me back and told me he would very much like that. As I rode the bike out I thought of how in the world I would do this. Once I had a sort of plan I pulled up to the ware house and entered through a window.....only to find it empty.

"God dammit!" I yelled while kicking the wall "he moved to another spot and now I have to find it!" I said. I began to look around for clues of some sort but he didn't leave anything except his trash behind. I left and headed back towards the mansion/bat cave. I figured with all his fancy computers at the cave I should be able to find some place the Joker would hide out at with a group of superheroes in tow.
