He didn't look at me as we left the building and an eerie silence fell between us but the tears wouldn't stop leaking out of my eyes.
I blinked nervously and looked to him to see if any emotion whatsoever was etched onto his face but like I guessed there was none.
It was fairly cold outside and I might as well have worn nothing compared to the little warmth the short, white dress I was wearing gave me. The area was concealed in darkness and only by the light of the half moon could I make out his face but had no idea where we were headed though with his enhanced senses it was probably just as easy to see in the dark as light.
Half an hour later and not one word was exchanged. My legs were numb and felt like lead, when were we going to stop?! Suddenly I bumped into something which was cold and hard and felt like and iron gate. He turned to look at me and narrowed his harsh eyes but didn't speak. A creak was heard which I presumed was him opening the gate and he grabbed my arm and I felt tingles where his fingers lingered on my skin. He pushed me through the gate, making me trip which surprisingly I didn't care for. He walked up the pathway with me trailing behind him and stopped and I heard a jingle of metal and a lock turning. Warm air brushed against my face as he pushed into the house and the lights switched on. I blinked a few times, getting used to seeing clearly again.
"You live here now." He didn't look at me which made me feel like dirt which to him I most likely was... I shook it off. I didn't expect any special kind of treatment here. No human should ever think they are equal to vampires. That's exactly what gets us killed.
I opened my mouth to say something but I couldn't think of anything I wanted to say.
"Follow me." He commanded walking into a very large dining room with a joint kitchen. "Human's like to eat regulary so eat before you work." He gestured to the buttered bread laid out on the table.
"I'm not hungry." I mumbled before biting my tongue.
"Eat." His voice was raised and his eyes darker.
I bowed my head and sat down at the table with him watching me.
"From now on you will address me as master. You will eat then you will clean this room. At nine precisely you will come to my quarters."
"What's your name?" I asked, avoiding his gaze.
"It is not of importance. You are merely a slave which I will do as I please to. I own you which you will do well to remember. I don't expect anymore questions from you, peasent." He said sharply.
He then vanished from in front of me which puzzled me for a few moments before remembering that vampires had super speed.
"Yes master." I said glumly putting full emphasis on master.
"I heard that." His voice boomed from another level.
Shit... forgot about vampire's sensitive hearing... I thought. Damm!
Also I should be more careful with my choice of words seeing as he could snap my neck or drain my blood any second.
I rejected the food though forced myself to eat all of it which was threatening to make a reappearance. Not that the food was bad at all it was just after today I could barely stomach it. I'm lucky I don't have to drink blood which is a rumour in the village that some slaves do though I couldn't find out if it was true or not as I was never really aloud outside.
An old grandfather clock was ticking at me to get a move on from the other side of the room. It was quarter to eight now which meant I had only an hour and fifteen minutes to clean this spacious room, completely brimming in dust.
Would I have to do this with my hands or what?
I rose from my seat and carried the plate to the sink but tripped and fell on my front with a still whole plate luckily. I looked behind me to see what I fell over which turned out to be dusters, mops etc. just clattered in a messy pile on the floor. Oh wow. He couldn't have just put them in plain sight could he? No, that would have been to easy for me, right? Note the sarcasm in my voice!
I pulled myself off the ground and put the dish in the sink and turned on the tap to wash it up. The cool liquid splashed onto my hands and I welcomed it greatfully. I grabbed a sponge and scrubbed the dish. I brushed the hair in my eyes off my face and squeezed the water from the sponge. Red liquid gushed out of it and down the drain. That wasn't water... I looked at my hands and they were plastered in a crimson substance too. The bit of hair I had brushed away had gone hard and sticky. The stench of iron wafted through the air as I realized what the liquid was. Blood. Pure blood.
I turned on the taps and blood instead of water rushed out of them. No water. The vampires had replaced water with blood. Is this was they shower in too? I gaged in horror and turned away from the sink to see my master standing behind me with a glint of red in his eyes.
