Snow's Request-

I ride back to the Capital on the train. I didn't encounter anything weird, even though I was expecting signs of an uprising. Everyone was acting perfectly fine.

How could there possibly be an uprising when everyone was acting oh-so-perfect? Before I went home, I stopped by Cecilia's house. I explained to her that I didn't have the caviar we betted on. She simply slams the door in my face. I roll my eyes and walk away.
As I walk in, my mother gives me some kind of look I'm not familiar with. "Milady, I need to talk to you in the kitchen," she says.
"Okay?" I reply. I follow Mom into the kitchen. Along the way, I pass the things I've known forever. The pink fridge and the bright yellow sink. The neon green stove and vivid purple cupboards. "So, what's up?" Mom doesn't say anything, and I'm greeted by a white rose laying on the table. It stands out against all of the brilliant colors of the house. When I look up, Mom is gone. President Snow takes her place instead.
"Uncle Snow. What a nice surprise," I say sourly. "You never visit us any other time, so why today? What's the special occasion?"
"I'm sure you've heard already, Milady. You went to District 4 and ran into a Peacekeeper that gave you some information, right?"
I nod. Of course he knows I was there. He knows everything...
Maybe even things about the Rebellion.
"I need your help. There's a Rebellion happening in 13—"
"But 13 isn't even a thing anymore—"
"Just listen, dear! When Katniss shot that arrow, it was planned! She was taken away to 13 to be the Mockingjay in the Rebellion. She shoots propaganda. And I know that soon, she'll be doing much more than that. And I need you to help me."
"But how?" I cry. "I'm from the Capital! I should be the last person Katniss should ever trust!"
"Because the Mockingjay is dumb. If you listen to my instructions that I'm about to give you, you can become close to her. Become friends with her. And then destroy her," Snow says.
And it's bold that I say these words, but I do. "What if I don't want to do this? This is horrible."
"Then I can try you for treason." Then he drags a finger to his mouth and points to his tongue. Then he makes a slashing motion. Of course, I'd be turned into an Avox. Being the president's niece is no exception.
"Fine, I'll do it. What am I supposed to do, anyway?" Snow gives me a long piece of smooth, white paper. On it is—what I'm assuming—a song.

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
They strung up a man
They say who murdered three
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where dead man called out
For his love to flee
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where I told you to run
So we'd both be free
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Wear a necklace of hope
Side by side with me
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree

"This is a horrible song!" I reply, totally in shock.
"One that Katniss knows very much. You will become a rebel. You will feed me information. You will sing this song when Katniss is around, to gain her trust. You will find out Rebel secrets. And in return, I will tell you things that the Rebels don't know. I can tell you about possible bombings, when and where. The task is simple, yes?"
I nod my head, not trusting myself to speak. I will stand by the Capital.
Even if I can get caught and killed for doing so.

The next two weeks pass by in a blur. I was sent to District 2, to train with Peacekeepers. I especially became fond of Niklaus, who taught me my best skill: throwing knives. I was hoping he'd teach me more skills because I liked him the most. He was probably the nicest here. But he had to go to some District that was running low on Peacekeepers. Why, I don't know.

A Peacekeeper led me to the very outskirts of District 13's property. "Just keep walking forward," she says in a gravelly voice. "You'll come to the gate. I don't know why you're here; and I don't want to. Just be careful."
It doesn't take long to get to the fence. Two soldiers point their guns at me, but that's unnecessary. I'm not armed anyway. "Please, help me!" I sob. I cry fake tears, hoping it doesn't look as fake at it really feels. "I escaped President Snow. He was torturing me—and almost turned me into an Avox."
At least they'll know that this part isn't fake. Before my time with the District 2 army, Snow put in a special cosmetic surgery order. My tongue was to be slashed in several places, my scars surgically crafted by Doctors.
"Please!" I plead. "I have n-nowhere else to go." And that's true. Until I finish my mission, that is.
"Fine," a female soldier says. "But we'll take her to Coin first. Maybe this Capital girl can be useful to us."

And I have to fight a smile, because I've already got a private meeting with Aunt Alma Coin--otherwise known as Corralina Snow.
