I wake up to the faint sound of Noah
speaking over me.
"Luna?"
The voice gets louder.
"Luna?!"
And louder...
"LUNA? ARE YOU OKAY?" He shouts. "CAN YOU
HEAR ME?"
He's so loud.
But groggily I respond back to him,
"Ye-
yes... I can hear you."
My eyes are squinting at the bright light
flashing in my face.
I get up, slowly,
and look around.
I'm still at the cafe',
but I'm laid out on one of the lounging couches;
everyone's staring at me at this point.
Maybe I should close my eyes again,
so I don't have to face the stares.
"What happened?" I ask,
as I'm rubbing my eyes.
"You literally got up there,
said your name,
and fell to the floor..." he says. "Nerves got the best of you?"
"Yeah,
I guess so.
I don't even remember saying my name.
I just remember sitting down and then-
nothing." I explain.
"How are you feeling though?
I'm so glad you woke up;
I didn't know who to call
since your phone is locked.
I did see like,
five missed calls from someone named, Sonny,
though.
Wasn't sure to call back."
Five missed calls?
I told him I was going to call him back
after I got done running "errands."
Not sure why he felt the need to call me
five times.
"Who is that?
Your boyfriend huh, ha...
That sucks."
"No,
he is not my boyfriend.
It's-
It's complicated.
But it's a good thing you didn't call back.
I don't really feel like hearing him whine," I tell him.
"Oh?
Well,
okay then." he says. "So are you feeling better?
I would love to buy you a drink,
or something.
On the house."
