Paul's P.O.V.

It was my turn to walk Martha the next day. So I got her leash on. "I'll be back later, June!" I yelled. "Are you taking Martha for her walk?" Asked June. "Yeah! See you in a bit!" I called. So I walked out the door and went on my way to walk Martha.

June's P.O.V.

While Paul was out, I've been so inspired by his amazing songwriting skills. I immediately thought about writing my own song. Only I'm gonna make it so Paul can sing it too. In other words, I'm making a duet. I grabbed a sheet of paper and a pen. Since the weather is nice, I thought about going outside to do my writing.
At one point, I ran into another one of Paul's bandmates. Last time I checked, this one is Ringo Starr. He looks up when he sees me.

"Hi, you must be Paul's girlfriend, June Anderson." He said. "That's right. Ringo Starr, Beatles drummer right?" I asked. "Yes ma'am. My real name is Richard Starkey, but everyone calls me Ringo because I wear so many rings." Said Ringo. "I see." I said. "What are you doing out here?" Ringo asked. "Writing a song." I said. "Wow! That's great, June!" Said Ringo. "I was inspired by Paul and his songwriting skills." I said.

Ringo pats my back. "Hey, Paul told me and the others you don't have a lot friends. Is that true?" He asked. "Yeah. Growing up, I didn't fit in with large crowds. But Paul showed me how to keep smiling no matter what, especially when he and his family took me in after my parents died." I said. "Sounds like you had a rough childhood." Ringo said. "I did. But things are getting better for me luckily, thanks to Paul." I said. "I'm glad to hear that." Said Ringo.

"Thanks. Oh, would you like to be friends? You and me?" I asked. "Absolutely!" Ringo said. "Sweet!" I said with a smile. The two of us shake hands. "You definitely deserve more friends." Said Ringo. "I actually ran into George yesterday and made friends with him too." I said. "Oh, good! I'm glad to hear that!" Ringo said. We say our goodbyes after a few minutes. I walk back inside and work on the rest of the lyrics to my song.

It didn't take too long for me to get done. All that was left is to work on the music. By the time I got the whole song together, Paul came back with Martha. "We're home!" He called. Martha came running over to me after Paul took her leash off. "Hey, girl! Were you good during your walk?" I asked. Martha barked in response. "She was so good, she totally deserves a treat! Come here, Martha!" Said Paul.

Martha runs over to Paul as he pulls out one of her doggie treats and feeds it to her. Paul turns to me afterwards. "In the mood for a song?" He asked. "Of course. After you're done, I have a surprise for you." I said. "Really?" Paul asked. I nod. "You'll love it, trust me." I said. "I trust you, sweetie." Said Paul. He grabs his guitar and tunes it. "Ready?" He asked. "Yes sir." I said.

Paul clears his throat before he starts singing his song.

I give her all my love
That's all I do
And if you saw my love
You'd love her, too
I love her

She gives my everything
And tenderly
The kiss my lover brings
She brings to me
And I love her

A love like ours
Could never die
As long as I
Have you near me

Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
Will never die
And I love her

Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
Will never die
And I love her

After Paul got done, I clapped for him. "Those lyrics were so touching!" I said. "Thank you, hun." Paul said. "Are you ready for your surprise?" I asked. "Yes." Said Paul. I grabbed my lyrics sheet from the piano. Paul's eyes widened and he smiles when he realizes what I have. "Oh my gosh, June! Did you write a song?!" He asked excitedly. "Yes, but I didn't make it a solo. I made it a duet because I want you to sing it with me." I said. Paul stands up from his seat and immediately traps me into a hug. "You're the best!" He said.

Before we got into singing the song, I had to help Paul with the lyrics a few times until he got the hang of them. "Do you feel ready to sing it now?" I asked. "I think so." Paul said. I turned to Martha, who's playing with her toys. "Martha, do you wanna hear Paul and I sing?" I asked. Martha barks three times as if she was saying, "Yes I do". I smile at the silly dog and started playing the music on the piano as Paul and I sing.

Paul: Never knew I could feel like this
Like I've never seen the sky before
Want to vanish inside your kiss
Everyday I love you more and more

Listen to my heart, can you hear it sings
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change, winter to spring
But I love you, until the end of time

Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day

June: Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace

Both: Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste

June: It all revolves around you

Both: And there's no mountain too high
No river too wide
Sing out this song and I'll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather
And stars may collide

Paul: But I love you

June: I love you

Both: Until the end of time

Come what may
Come what may
I will love you, until my dying day

Come what may
Come what may
I will love you

June: I will love you

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place

Both: Come what may
Come what may
I will love you, until my dying day

After we finished, we kissed. "I have to say, June, you did a wonderful job writing that song!" Said Paul. "Aww, Paulie, thank you!" I said. "You're welcome. There's something else I'd like to do, by the way." Paul said. We stand up from the piano and Paul gestures for me to follow him outside.

"Whatever else you're about to do, I'm ready." I said with a smile. Paul takes my hands. "June, from the moment you came into my life, I knew that it was impossible not to fall in love with you. Throughout the course of our time together, from when we were kids to now, they were the best days I've ever spent with you. If you'll let me, I wanna spend the rest of my life with you." He said.

Right before my eyes, Paul gets down on one knee and pulls out a tiny box. "Juniper Lee Anderson, will you marry me?" He asked. "Yes!!" I said excitedly. Paul takes the ring out of the box and slips it onto my finger. The two of us brought ourselves in for yet another passionate kiss in honor of our engagement.

Paul and June's duet. In real life, it actually came out in 2001 and is sung by Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman from the movie, Moulin Rouge! Tap the thumbnail to hear the song. ~ Amanda
