June's P.O.V.
Paul and I got married a few weeks later. We had an outdoor wedding since I've always enjoyed the great outdoors. Our honeymoon took place in Paris, France since I've heard a lot of people say it's the most romantic city in the world. After our honeymoon, we didn't spend a single day apart from each other, except for when Paul goes to work.
For this particular day, Paul is in the studio while I'm in the yard playing fetch with Martha. "Ready, girl? Fetch!" I said as I threw the ball. Martha runs after it and brings it back to me after catching it. "Good girl, Martha!" I said while patting her head. We played for a few more minutes until we were both getting thirsty.
Martha and I went back into the house and got some water. A little while later, the door opens and in came Paul. "Sweetheart, I'm home!" He said. Martha started jumping all over him and barking. "Well, hello to you too, Martha!" He said.
I stood up from the couch and smiled at the sight of my husband. "There's my Paulie!" I said. "And there's my little Juneberry!" Said Paul. We walked up to each other and kissed.
"How is working on the album coming along?" I asked. "We're done actually. We'll be releasing it later this week." Paul said. "Wow! Paul, I'm so proud of you!" I said excitedly. I kissed my husband on his cheek. "Speaking of, I'd like to sing you one of the songs from the album to celebrate its completion." Said Paul. "I'd like that." I said.
A knock on the door occurs. "Come in!" Paul yelled. The door opens to reveal John. "Hey, lovebirds!" He said. "Hey, John! Come on in!" I said. John enters the house and sits in the living room with Paul and I. "So, Macca, did you tell your wife the good news?" Asked John. "I sure did." Paul said. "I can't wait for its release! I'm definitely buying it once it's out!" I said. "How many of our records do you have, June?" John asked. "Three." I said. "Oh, so you have the first three, huh?" Asked John. "Indeed I do!" I said.
The songwriting duo gives me a thumbs up. "There's something that I'd like to say to both of you." I said. "What is it, love?" Asked Paul. "I just wanna say... thank you." I said. "For what?" John asked. "For being my friends." I said. "Oh." Said John. "Paul, you were the very first friend I ever made when I had none, and you'll never know how much it meant to me when you took me in after my parents died. So I thank you for that." I said.
My words must've touched Paul's heart since he had tears in his eyes. I kissed his cheek afterwards. "I love you." I said. "I love you too. We may be husband and wife now, but that doesn't mean I'll never stop calling you my best friend " Paul said. "Me neither, sweetie." I said. "That's my girl." Said Paul with a smile.
I turned my attention to John shortly thereafter. "John, I'd like to thank you for being there for me whenever there came a time Paul wasn't around. And I'm proud to also call you my friend." I said. John smiles as the two of us stand up from our seats and hug. "You're welcome, June." John said. We sit back down afterwards.
"This is amazing! I'm married to a Beatle and friends with the other three! I'm the luckiest girl in the world!" I said happily. "You certainly are!" Paul said. "I hope you two never divorce! You're absolutely perfect for each other!" Said John. "Thanks. And you're right! We'll never be getting a divorce!" I said.
About an hour later, John exits our house and takes his leave. Paul picks up his guitar and tunes it. "Ready for the song now?" He asked. "I'm ready." I said. Paul starts strumming and sings his song.
Hold me close and tell me how you feel
Tell me love is real
Mm, mm, mm, mmWords of love you whisper soft and true
Darling, I love you
Mm, mm, mm, mmLet me hear you say the words I long to hear
Darling, when you're near
Mm, mm, mm, mmWords of love you whisper soft and true
Darling, I love you
Mm, mm, mm, mmMm, mm, mm
Mm, mm, mmAs always, Paul never fails to disappoint me when it comes to his wonderful songs! "Now that was beautiful!" I said. Paul puts his guitar down and pulls me close to him. "I'm very proud of you, honey." He said. "For what?" I asked. "For many years, I was your only friend. But you plucked up the courage to make more friends as time went on. You did very well with that." Said Paul. He wraps me into a hug and kisses my forehead.
"You showed me how to fit in, that's why I have more friends now than I did back then." I said. Paul nods at my words. "I'll always be here for you no matter what happens. You know that, don't you?" He asked. "Of course. And, Paul?" I said. "Yeah?" Paul said.
"Promise you'll never leave me? Ever? Even if we have an argument?" I asked. "I promise, baby. I'm never gonna leave you, not in a million years." Said Paul. "That's my boy!" I said with a smile. "Don't ever leave me either. Promise?" Paul asked. "Of course, my dear Paulie. I promise." I said. Paul smiles. "That's my girl!" He said.
The two of us brought ourselves in for a kiss. It lasts for what felt like an eternity. Anyway, I'm proud to say that I've successfully managed to make new friends after my rough childhood, especially when Paul came into my life. Now he's my husband.
This is the end of my story, but before I go, I'm gonna take a moment to say that I'm happy to have made friends with The Beatles. I'm married to one and friends with the other three. I'm happy to say that it's the best achievement I've ever received.
