If you are reading this note, then I have (finally) managed to achieve a lifelong dream of mine. I am going on an adventure.
Do not fear for me. I have been kidnapped by an evil troll and will be back, safe and sound, very soon. When I return, I hope you have rethought your proposal for my future, though I sincerely doubt as much.
