Flying through the air, on the way to Washington D.C. are Hal Jordan, better known as Green Lantern and his protégée of five months, Amy Winston. The two are on their way to the Hall of Justice, to meet the other superheroes and their apprentices. Then today is the day: Amy gets a step closer to her goal of being a hero. The Justice League wants to include and introduce the five young heroes- officially. A grin steals onto her lips when she thinks about meeting the others. Kid Flash, Aqalad, Speedy and Robin. Hal told her a lot about them and their mentors. The Green Lantern is simply a chatterbox. But Amy can't complain. She likes Hal's easygoing and funny personality. And if she's honest, she couldn't ask for a better mentor. In addition, his information make her less unprepared and nervous.

"You always pull down. Try to lean against it," Hal corrects his protégée. His green glow is a patch of color in the blue sky. Amy still struggles to adapt to the air resistance while flying. After all, flying is something she couldn't do a few months ago. She couldn't do many things a few months ago.

Amy is a fast learner, but most of the time she just acts out of an instinct because she doesn't really know what she's doing.

"Come on, Hal! We can't be late!" Amy's gleefull voice yells through the rush of the wind. The golden blonde hair of Amethyst-- Amy's superhero persona-- flys in front of her face as she goes faster. A grin hangs on her lips as she spins a pirouette. Her lilac eyes are shining in the sunlight.

"They won't start without us," Hal chuckles at the girl's excitement, "Don't worry."

"I know. It's just rude to be late," She sticks her tongue out at him.

Hal playfully rolls his eyes before catching a glimpse of yelling from down below and slows down. Amy, immediately realising that her mentor is no longer by her side, stops too. The two exchange a look before she sighs internally. The blonde has nothing against helping innocents. After all, that is her job and that's why she wants to be a hero. She could have just continued to live normally after getting back to earth. But she didn't want to. She couldn't. She wants to help others. And to be honest, punching the bad guys is incredibly fun, it's like playing a game. However, right now the only thing she wants is to get to Washington D.C. and meet the other heroes.

She follows Hal down below to find Icicle Sr. cooling down people on the beach. His ice canon is freezing the screaming civilians. How ironic. Just because people enjoy Popsicles doesn't mean they want to become one themselves.

"The guy is so annoying, I'll tell you. The police keeps putting him in jail; it's basically his second home. I don't understand why they let him go all the time," Hal says as they're landing. Amy just nods her head along, used to Hal's babble. Before she can even open her mouth her mentor points a finger at the people. "You're going to take care of the hostages. Make sure they get to safety while I'll deal with old Ice."

"But I have myself under control!" rants Amy immediately with a scowl, "Why do you always get to deal with the badies?"

"That's not what I meant..." Green Lantern signs at her allusion. His pupil is not yet able to fully grasp her abilities and both know this. "Look, the sooner we finish this, the sooner we get to the Hall."

Amy sighs inwardly, yielding. Seems like she can't beat anyone today but she nods nevertheless and gives Hal a dimwitted thumbs up. After all: saving people is what this is and should be all about. And Hal will deal with the Ice Man a lot faster than she would as he just said...

"Punch the sucker in the face for me."

"Oh, with pleasure!" Senior shots ice blast after ice blast, but Hal blocks it off of him with a shield construct.
