Potions was the first class in the morning on Tuesdays. It was filled with first year Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws, the entire class was on their best behavior, because they had received warnings from the elder students about Professor Snape. Rhea had a guess of what the class would be like even before Hogwarts. She was given her own lessons between the time she was adopted and before Hogwarts. Even if she was related to him, he was still just as strict as he was with the rest of the students. The dungeons was cold and was in a room that had pickled animals floating in glass jars around the walls.

Since the students arrived a few minutes early, Professor Snape walked in later. He started off class by taking the register with the usual tone of voice that she had often heard, just above a whisper. "You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potionmaking. As there is little foolish wand-waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching

the mind, ensnaring the senses ... I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death – if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach."

The entire class was silent. Professor Snape put all of them into pairs, switching seats around and moving the class around so that there was a Ravenclaw with every Hufflepuff. Rhea was happy to see that she was placed with Terry Boot. Professor Snape explained that they would remain partners for the entire school year. Rhea looked around and saw that Mei had a rather annoyed look on her face as she was placed together with Michael Corner (Noah Jupe). A boy with a large round nose, eyes a little too far apart and a mass a curly brown hair. Michael Corner wasn't the nicest Ravenclaw.

They had to make a Cure for Boils. 'Being an effective remedie against pustules, hives, boils and many other scrofulous conditions. This is a robust potion of powerful character. Care should be taken when brewing. Prepared incorrectly this potion has been known to cause boils, rather than cure them...' Was what the book had said. Professor Snape swept around in his long black cloak, watching them weigh dried nettles and crush snake fangs, he spoke quietly throughout the class but had often criticized the class. He had purposely ignored Rhea and Terry as they worked together. With a Ravenclaw with a Hufflepuff there weren't any accidents. He had explained the dangers of the potion before class, when brewing the potion the cauldron must be taken off the fire before adding the porcupine quills or else the cauldron will melt and create a horrid odor and if it spills will cause the skin to erupt into vicious boils. He also warned that before brewing a Cure for Boils, coating a cauldron will Bulbadox powder will make the cauldron explode.

With a lack of accidents they climbed the steps out of the dungeon. "Well that wasn't so bad." Leanne said. "Sure he's intimidating but that's it."

"Apparently Professor Snape learned from his years of teaching." Michael Corner said, filled with arrogance. "That pairing up the houses evenly will make it so Hufflepuffs won't destroy all the cauldrons."

"Shut up Corner." Sue Li said. "In case you've forgotten, you almost destroyed a cauldron if it wasn't for Higashimura." Mei sent her a smile and Michael stormed off with his

Stephen Cornfoot and Anthony Goldstein. Cornfoot was a boy with light brown skin and short dark brown hair who was a distant cousin of the Patil sisters (Tenzing Norgay Trainor). While Goldstein had olive tone skin, curly brown hair that was about as Corner's (August Maturo).

"What a nightmare." Amanda Avery said (Mackenzie Foy), a Ravenclaw with auburn brown hair that went down her back and pale skin. Her eyes were on the lighter side being a mixture of green and brown that gave her a haunting look. She had a posture similar to a lot of Slytherins and an air of indifference about her. She trailed off with the majority of the Ravenclaws.
