Dear Prof. McGonnagal,

I am writing to you with strange news.
Over this summer, I have turned into a Vampire.
Hermione demanded that I wrote to you and tell you all I know, but I've already told you all I can think of.
I'll see you soon.

- Harry.

--

After I gave the letter to my own to deliver it, I sat on my bed. It was around eleven, normal bed time. I hadn't slept at all.

Literally, at all, since I was turned. I watch the sun set and rise, not feeling tired at all.

Could I even sleep?

I stood up, walking down to the kitchen. Surely, I would be able to find something to do? I had read every book in my house, counted everything I could think of...

'Fuck it.'

I grabbed my jacket, pulling it over my shoulders, stepping out the door. Checking that my jacket had my wand, I walked out onto the road.

I hadn't realized I had been walking for hours until I saw the sunrise. I cast tempus. 5:38 am.

I looked around. Where am I? I was still in a suburban neighbourhood, just not one I recognised.

Looking around, making sure no one was around, I apparated back to my house. I trudged up the stairs and flopped onto the bed once more.

It was August 27th, and Eighth year couldn't be father away...

----

[Sept. 1st]

I was going to meet up with Hermione and Ron at King's Cross. Since I had seen them last, I had definitely become paler, and my eyes looked glassy and dead.

I quickly called out to them across the station. We boarded the train quickly, getting into a compartment as fast as we could.

"Harry, are you feeling well?" Hermione asked, looking at me with concern.
"I'm fine, 'mine," I brushed her off. I felt fine. I looked out the window.
"Mate, you look grey."
"W-what do you mean?" I asked, whipping my head to face them.
"Your skin, it's grey," Ron said.
I sighed. "What next, I sparkle?" (A/N: if you get this, Shh! Pretend it was already out)

Hermione laughed, causing Ron to look at us confused.

"Muggle thing," Hermione managed, through her laughter.

----

After the feast, we were lead to the eighth year common room and dorms by McGonnagal. She then pulled me aside.

"Mr. Potter. With your... Situation, you will have a separate dorm, but if you wish, you may stay with the others," McGonnagal said, waiting for my answer.
"Ah- It's probably best if I have my own dorm? I'll still be able to use the common room, right?" I answered.
"It's settled then. Let me show you to your dorm," she said, walking off.

----

The next morning, I sat in the great hall, picking at my bland food.

"Doesn't taste good?" Hermione asked from across from me. I nodded.
"Bland," I said, talking another bite of my toast.
"Bacon?" Ron asked, mouth full of food.

I took it. Nibbling on the bacon, I glanced across the great hall.

"Did you hear? Malfoy and Zabini are back," Ron asked. I chocked.
"They are?" I ask.

As soon as I finish my sentence, the two walked through the doors and sat down at the Slytherin table.

Malfoy and I locked eyes. He smirked, then continued eating.

"-Harry!" I shook my head, shaking off my thoughts.
"What, 'Mione?" I asked, continuing to eat the bacon.
"You spaced out. Plus, it's time to go," she says, standing up and grabbing her things.
