Preparations

I stood outside Nick Fury's office trying to calm my nerves. Why was I so nervous all of the sudden? Was it because it would be my first mission? Maybe I wasn't going to tell anyone including.....? No it couldn't be that..........Could it?

I shook my head and opened the door not caring that he was talking to someone.

"Ever heard of knocking?" Nick sassed.

"Nope. That is a new concept to me." I snarked back. "Gonna take you up on that offer." I said to him. I noticed Steve sitting in front of his desk wearing his Spangled uniform. 

"Alright you leave in 3 days or less." Nick said.

"Leave where?" Steve asked sounding interested and a little worried. He stood up out of his chair looking back and forth between me and Nick. I glanced at him then looked back at Nick.

"Be ready in 2 days." Nick said. I nodded and could see Steve through my peripheral vision getting more and more mad that we were ignoring his question.

"I can be ready in one." I responded. He nodded and signaled me to go.  I didn't realize that I left the doorway and went further into his office until I turned around and saw Steve standing in front of the door.  I stood waiting for him to move on his own. When it was obvious that he wasn't going to I went up to him to try and push him out of the way. I grabbed his forearm and tried to pull him out of the way. That didn't work so I let go, and tried pushing.

"Where are you going?" Steve said more sternly trying to use his Captain voice on me which did not work.  I kept trying to move him out of the way but nothing was working.  

"Kena." Steve said dangerously low and grabbed me by the arms. "Where are you going?" I looked up at him.

"To the gym you ass muffin." I said and pushed him out of the way successfully.  I didn't stay long enough to hear anything else. I had to pack and figure out a uniform for myself.
