I was in the store for about half an hour. My neck ached from continuously looking down and having to check my phone with the grocery list, my feet hurt from being on them for so long, and my mood was just foul at this point. I checked the cart one more time to see if I got everything, my phone in my hand.

10) chocolate chip cookies? Check ✓Okay, so maybe the cookies weren't exactly on the list, but hey. Comfort food needed here, thank you very much. I quickly got in line and checked out the items. Putting the items into bags, I started to wonder why my mom needed all that. Was there some special occasion coming up that we needed the cake mix for? Or maybe she's cooking the chicken for dinner tonight? I almost moaned out loud at the thought. Chicken was my favorite food, no form it came in could be bad. Fried, nuggets, grilled... All chicken was absolute heaven to me.
I walked out of the store and wondered if I should take the round about way or go back the way I came. The way I came was longer by a few minutes and these bags were heavy. I decided on the first option and started down the sidewalk of the round about route.
The night had grown a bit chilly, which is understandable since it was August. I wish I'd had remember to have brought a coat. This wouldn't have been a problem though, if I hadn't ended up with detention. Gritting my teeth, I remembered the twins laughing faces when they found out I had gotten a detention and they got off scott free with their teachers. So unfair... But then again, life is unfair, I thought with a sigh.
I hadn't realized I had gotten lost in my thoughts again when a weird noise had snapped me out of it. I stopped and listened, realizing I had walked quite some way lost in my thoughts. What was that noise? I strained my ears, looking in all directions along the strip mall. I could here grunting noises and whimpers. Was it a dog? Was it hurt? My eyes zeroed in on an ally way and I started to move towards it without thinking.
I peered around the corner, but it was too dark and I couldn't see anything. I cautiously stepped farther in, my eyes straining to see farther into the darkened ally. I could faintly see a silhouette crouched down and bent over something else.
"Hello? Do you need any help?" I called out as I inched my way closer to the person. I could now faintly make out the details of the person. It looked to be a young adult male, in his early twenties. I could be wrong though. He had tattoos covering his whole body, his hair a matted mess. Whoever it was froze, their arm raised up, their hand curled into a fist. I stopped dead in my tracks, afraid to look below the person. Against my own will, I looked down and almost puked. There, laying below the man, was a battered and bloodied person, their face smashed beyond recognition. I didn't do well with blood, it made me squeamish. The bags of grocery dropped from my hands, making a loud clatter and rustling noise. I debated on turning around, leaving the bags there, and running for my life.
Who would do this to someone?? And why?? I knew it wasn't any of my business but my curiosity kept me rooted to the spot despite a wave of nausea rolling throughout my body.
The man stood up to his full height, and oh my, was he tall. I could tell he would tower over me even though he was feet away from me. I stood rooted to the spot, staring into this man's eyes, which gleamed dangerously, as if I was the next victim. Now that I could see him more clearly, I couldn't help but admit that he was attractive. Really, really, attractive. The most attractive person I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of people. I couldn't drag my eyes away from his.
His cold piercing grey eyes glared into my soft brown eyes. I gulped, his eyes following the movement of my throat. He smirked, and my mouth ran dry. I had the urge to lick my lips, but I refrained, too scared of what his reaction would be or if he would do something to me like kiss me... Wait, what?! Now was not the time to be daydreaming about this guy kissing me!! Get a grip, Daisy girl!! I refocused and saw him staring at me intensely, inching closer. I backed up, as he took slow, steady, predatory steps towards me, never missing a beat. My back hit the cold alley way wall, and I squeaked in surprise. Our staring contest broke as I snapped out of his trance, whipping my head from left to right, trying to think of a way to escape. But my mind came up blank while I was inwardly cursing myself. A lean muscular forearm came into view as he put it against the wall against my head. I looked to my right, and his other arm was in the same position. I was trapped. I was too intimidated to look at him, so I kept my head turned and squeezed my eyes shut. A rough hand gripped my chin... god they felt so good against my smooth skin. I felt sharp electric spark tingle throughout my body from his warm touch. Oh god... This feeling he was giving me... I was too lost in the feeling to worry about if the hand that was touching me had blood on it.
"Look at me Princess", he said with a low growl, his warm breath fanning my face. I felt heat course through me from his touch and his deep attractive voice. I bit my lip, refusing to comply.
"Look at me or I'll bite your bottom lip for you..." he trailed off, his deep voice growing husky. My eyes popped open wide at what he was insinuating, trying to shake my head 'no', but to no avail because of his iron grip on my chin. He was not about to steal my first kiss! No way in hell!!
