✨Niki's POV✨

"Yasssssss I'm finally home!" I yell as my mom covers her ears and my dog comes running towards me.

"Niki shhhhh you gotta be quiet I know you're excited but your dad is sleeping on the couch and if he wakes up he's gonna be grumpy" says my mom with an angry look on her face

"Oops sorry mom I thought he would be awake since he hasn't seen his daughter in 2 years" I say with an upset look on my face

"Niki you know he's tried to come up there it's just he has a lot of important things to do." My mom looks at me with a worried facial expression

"Yeah whatever apparently sleeping is the more important then his daughter you act like I don't have a older brother who visited me everyday mom he told me what dad was doing all he did was sleep he is such a lazy bum" I yell as I go to my room and slam the door behind me

My mom sighs and comes towards my room as I yell "Don't even try coming to talk to me I don't want you in here" my mom opens the door and says "Niki don't be like this please I've tried everything I can to get your dad to visit you but he doesn't want to it would just make him sad and depressed because of all the needles in you"

I hide my head in a pillow and mumble "get out I just want to lay down and watch tv by myself"

My mom sighs and says "okay but dinner is at 5 and you better be there"
I roll my eyes and mumble into the pillow "maybe"

My mom walked out of the room and didn't close the door so I had to get up and close it "ugh mom next time close the door okay i hate when you do that"

I run and jump on my bed and turn the tv on trying not to fall asleep. If I didn't tell you it was a 23 hour drive from the hospital to home. It was only that long because I went to a very special and very expensive hospital so that they could try to cure me but they couldn't so they sent me home. I have to go to the hospital near me 4 times every month for my chemo.
