"It's beautiful. You did an amazing job," Philip says, looking at Muriel's finished needlepoint of the underwater castle.
She smiles and kisses his cheek, setting aside her book. "Thanks. Something to remind me of home while I'm here."
Philip puts an arm around her. "Is it really that bad up here?"
Muriel rolls her eyes before placing her hand on her pregnant belly. "Not really, but Percy advised that I keep legs until the baby is born. He doesn't know how changing back and forth will affect our little baby." She sighs and leans against him. "I wonder how Percy and Caroline are doing." She giggles. "It's been a few years, and he is still scared of her."
"He better be," Caleb mumbles from behind.
Muriel rolls her eyes.
"Caleb, he treats her well, does what he thinks is best and respects her wishes. Stop griping," Philip says.
"It would be a little different, just a little if he didn't live in an element that I can't survive long in," Caleb says.
Muriel shakes her head. "They're so cute together. It's about time he proposed."
"Caleb wasn't helping with the death glares he kept sending Percy," Philip says. He looks back at Caleb.
"She's my little sister," Caleb says.
"And what other brothers do that, huh? Usually, they're happy to see their sister married off, or indifferent. Besides, I'm marrying one of the most powerful beings," Caroline says, walking in on Percy's arm.
Percy's face turns red. "I'm not one of the most powerful beings-"
Caroline sends him a look, and he closes his mouth.
He exhales a long breath. "Caleb, Philip, Muriel." He gives a nod and kneels in front of Muriel. "How is little one?"
Muriel smiles. "He is well from what I can tell. You need to stop worrying."
He gives a weak smile. "I'm trying." He stands.
Caroline hugs him from behind.
"Things are going well, Percy?" Caleb asks.
Percy nods. "The eels are now old enough to start doing magic, so I've been teaching them a few things. There's still a little trial and error I'm going through."
"They're probably always will be," Caroline says, kissing his cheek.
He nods. "True."
Just then, Aban and Aidan run in with huge eyes. "I just want to say, it's not my fault," Aban says.
"That's not true!" Aidan yells.
"What isn't who's fault?" Percy says, getting between them.
The twins look at each other before him. "Maybe you should come see," Aidan says, taking his arm. "But Aban is the one who decided to try something different."
"It was your idea!" Aban snaps.
"That's enough!" Percy snaps. He exhales a long breath, massaging his forehead. "Let's just go. Coming, Caroline?"
Caroline smiles and slips her arm through his. "Of course."
Philip watches them leave before looking back down at Muriel. "I'm not fully surprised something happened."
Muriel snickers. "Yeah, me neither." She gives a contented sigh and snuggles closer to her husband.
