She wouldn't fucking shift. Alpha Pearce punched through the wall of his office in rage, his wolf howling in frustration at his mate. He could hear his pack members running out of the pack house in order to stay away from their Alpha, he couldn't blame them for fearing him in this state. It had been three days and the infuriating rogue wouldn't shift into it's human form. He finally had the mate he had been searching for years for and the pack was finally going to have the Luna his members needed, but she wouldn't fucking shift.

When they brought her back they had initially taken her to the pack hospital and waited for her to gain consciousness under the care of the medical staff. That had been a grave mistake. The second she had regained consciousness she had tried to escape, attacking anyone that stepped in her way. It had taken five men to hold the wolf down and sedate their Luna, and she still had been able to seriously injure four other men before they had been able to stop her. Chase was one of the first four and he had to be treated from how deep her slash marks across his chest were. Alpha Pearce partially blamed himself, as soon as he gave in to his Beta's coaxing to leave and go grab food she had woken up. If he had been there he doubted that nine men would've had to have been involved in stopping the Luna's rampage.

After that disaster, they had moved her to the cells. They did everything they could to make it comfortable and they put her in a large interrogation room instead of a cell, but they still had to chain her. He hated seeing her chained and defeated, but it was for her safety and for the safety of the pack. Alpha Pearce couldn't let his mate hurt herself or his men trying to escape again, and unfortunately it was very clear she was interested in escaping. Her glowing white eyes were constantly taking in her surroundings and calculating an exit strategy and he hated it. He also hated the fact that she would not fucking shift. She had been chained for three days and her spirit wouldn't break, she refused to shift and also refused food and water.

The first day he tried talking to her to get her to shift, asking nicely and even begging at one point for his mate to show him her form, but she refused. The second day he had tried spending time with her and getting close to her, but if he even stepped foot into the room she would growl and snap and try to lunge at him. She might've been defeated in the clearing but her spirit refused to be broken, and she wouldn't let the Alpha or any of his men anywhere near her. It was the third day that she was trapped in the pack cells, chained in the interrogation room like a prisoner instead of a Luna. She hadn't eaten or drank any water in three days, which was incredibly dangerous for a werewolf. When he came to check on her in the morning he could see the toll that the lack of nourishment was taking on her body and had lost his temper. He had tried using his Alpha power through his voice to command her to at least drink water but his infuriating mate had weakly rolled her eyes in response to the Alpha tone he was using. He couldn't get through to her and he didn't know what to do, so he punched the wall in his office again.

He heard Chase slip in through the office doors and he sensed the unease his Beta felt, being confined in a room with an angry Alpha was not something even a Beta could be comfortable with. "Jackson has an idea, and while none of us like it we think it's worth bringing to you because it actually might work," Chase said, flinching as he felt the aura of rage rolling off his Alpha in waves. As each day went by that the Luna was in the pack cells, his Alpha had gotten into a more foul mood and Chase was the only one willing to step into his office to make the suggestion. At first when he heard Jackson's theory he had been quick to dismiss it, but that was the first day the Luna was down there and now even Chase felt desperate enough to try it. Chase watched his Alpha slowly turn around and walk towards his desk, giving the Beta the nod of his head to continue speaking as he sat down. "We're going to send James into the room with her."
