Flashback

It was a cold winter day. You and JiU agreed to meet at your usual spot at the Han River. You wanted to go there first because you still had to get your shit straight. You were about to propose to the love of your life. You held the box tightly and waited for JiU to arrive when suddenly you got a call.

Your P.O.V.

RINGG

"Hello?"

"Hi, is this Y/n L/n?" you heard the voice of a man.

"Uhm, yes this is her. Who is this?" I spoke nervously.

"Hi, we're calling from Myeongwoo Hospital. Ms. Kim Minji got into an accident and you were the first person on her call list, She's currently in a very critical condition. We will explain the details to you further when you get here." he spoke.

I felt my walls crashing down. I couldn't breathe. I should've just picked her up. I should've insisted on picking her up.

"Hello? Ms? Are you still there?" I heard from the other line.

"A-ah yes. I'll be there in a few. Thank you." I spoke, as calmly as I possibly could.

I knew I had to be calm. I had to. I don't know, I couldn't think straight. Minji was repeatedly invading my thoughts. I hurriedly got in my car and drove to the hospital.

No one's P.O.V.

As you got to the hospital, you immediately rushed to the emergency room and searched for JiU. You were told that she was already placed in a room and the doctor is currently checking up on her. You thanked the nurse and ran as fast as you can.

When you got there, you saw that the doctor and 2 nurses were blocking your view. You squeezed them and shoved them aside and saw the love of your life, lying peacefully on the bed with a bandage wrapped around her head, a cast on her leg, and an oxygen mask on her face.

You rushed to her side and held her hand softly. You looked at her face, despite the wounds and a few cuts she was still as beautiful as you could remember. The doctor explained to you what was going on. She wouldn't be waking up for a few days. The impact of the crash was a bit too much, the airbag kind of saved her from having worse but she still received a lot of damage.

When the doctor left, you broke down into tears and cried as you hold Minji's hand. Caressing it softly and holding it tightly.

It's been a week and JiU was still in a coma. You've been by her side since then. Her parents were telling you to go home, but you were persistent. You wanted to be there the moment she opens her eyes.

It's been a month since the accident. You've been visiting Minji and checking up on her restlessly. She's awake now. You should be celebrating, well you are happy of course but, she doesn't remember you. She just knows that you are her classmate and she's currently in her senior year in high school. It hurts you that the love of your life doesn't remember anything, while you are haunted by all of your memories. Her parents and yours knew about the proposal. They were devastated when they found out about what happened and had been helping you win her back. You have only been visiting her when she's asleep.
