Back At Home

Chapter 5

*****SKIP TO AFTER THE FEAST*********

All the students went back to their common rooms. Hermione, Ron, Harry, Neville, and Ginny said a quick goodbye to Luna, who was in Ravenclaw. They all were pretty tired and and sad. Hogwarts brought back the best of memories and the worst of memories. It was bitter-sweet.

After the girls and boys separated, and they were all fast asleep, Ron and Hermione still laid awake. Hermione snuck out, and sat on one of the big, comfortable chairs by the fire, which, luckily the house elf's hadn't put out yet. She opened her book, and before she finished the first page, she heard a voice.

"Having trouble sleeping, huh?"

Hermione saw Ron standing about five feet from her. She answered, "Yeah a little. It's so weird and sad here. I thought maybe I could get over it, but I'm having some trouble, and Harry's all distraught, and..."

Before she could finish, she heard a "Hopefully Ron doesn't see this." and a response "I think we'll be okay." Ron's ears turned red like they always did when he was mad. She looked up- and on the stairs were Ginny and Harry snogging. Hermione realized something- the last thing they needed was to start a fight. She tried to stop Ron, but didn't have time before he said a little too loudly "Well, Harry, it looks like you've thought wrong."

Ginny whipped around, and her face was madder then any of the had ever seen before.

"RON WEASLEY HOW DARE YOU!" She bellowed. She ran up to the girl's room, and Hermione followed her.

Harry looked mad as well, and Ron just stood there, now realizing what he had done. What a rocky start to their last year!
