The next day, Ginny refused to talk to Ron. Hermione and Harry tried to be Switzerland; and not make the situation worse, for it would die down by itself.
In Charms, Professor McGonagall introuced a new student.
"Gryffindors, pay attention. This is Annie. She just moved here, and is part of the Gryffindor house. She went to another wizarding school before Hogwarts. She just got sorted since she came a little late, and the sorting hat took longer then it ever has before! 'She is brave, yet her smarts keep her cautious. She has very good smarts, which makes her ambitious. Yet she is a sweet girl.' Were the exact words of the hat."
Hermione scowled at the praise from the hat. Not only that, but Annie was gorgeous. She had perfect, yet natural curly brown hair, and eccentric green eyes.
Harry was trying to not think it; but how could he not notice her beauty, and perfect skin? How could anyone not? But Harry had one love, Ginny.
Annie sat down next to Ron, and they had a nice conversation; something Hermione was very upset about.
After class, Annie left talking to Dean Thomas, who was blushing furiously and obviously took a liking to her. Ron, Hermione, and Harry had a break, and it was a nice day, so they decided to take a walk outside.
"Did you guys see Annie? When she talked to me, her breath smelled so sweet and minty. And her hair and eyes!"
Hermione was sickened. Harry saw a tear run down her cheek. She then took off, silently sobbing as she ran to the bathroom.
