The operator immediately sent an ambulance and cops there the second she heard Kenma's story. The ambulance and cops came within seconds and Suki was instantly taken away.
"I'm sorry Kuroo!" She cried. "This is all your fault you piece of shit!" She yelled at Kenma as the cop took her away. Kenma was too focused on Kuroo to even care. The place was like a murder scene, a pool of Kuroo's own blood was on the floor. Kenma's hands were also full of his blood from holding Kuroo. The paramedics came in with all sort of medical stuff, they rushed to get Kuroo on the bed to carry him into the truck. Kenma could hear them yelling that this was a serious situation. Tears started forming again and he started sobbing even harder than before. He went with Kuroo to the hospital, the whole way there one of the paramedic was trying to calm Kenma down. Kenma could not calm down, I mean, his boyfriend is literally right in front of him, in pain, on the verge of life and death. What can he do?
"Sir, if you don't calm down, you'll faint, please calm down," the paramedic said as she handed him a water bottle and sat on the opposite side of the him. "Do you mind explaining to me what happened?"
Kenma couldn't bring himself to say anything at first, seeing the love of his life in this situation. He held onto the bottle tightly as he looked up and said, "Sure," Kenma took a deep breath and wiped his eyes.
"He's my boyfriend," Kenma started with a small crack in his voice. The paramedic looked shocked but continued to listen. "Today we went on a scavenger hunt he set up for me, for some reason when we were about to finish he started acting weird and made us go home, I think he saw someone following us. I got upset because I wanted to finish the scavenger hunt but he dragged me home anyways. I didn't talk to him the whole way back and I didn't want to talk to him when we got home so I wanted to go to bed early, I took a shower and when I was about to get out I heard him through the door asking if I wanted dinner. I was still mad so I didn't say anything, then he apologized which made me realized that he didn't do anything that bad so I told him that anything will be fine for dinner. I came out of the bathroom and went to the kitchen," Then there was a pause, like he was thinking of something and if he should say it.
"You okay?" The paramedic asked realizing that the pause was getting longer.
"You know what was weird?" Kenma asked out of nowhere realizing something.
"What?" The paramedic asked as she tilted her head.
"So after I went into the kitchen, he gave me a kiss, and the moment he gave me a kiss, we heard our window breaking," Kenma told the paramedic.
"Hmm, that is weird," The paramedic said. "So how did your boyfriend became like this?" The paramedic pointed at Kuroo's stomach.
"Well, after we heard the window break he went to check it out and told me to stay in the kitchen. I waited in the kitchen then saw a shadow coming, I thought it was him so I didn't say anything. Then I saw one of his classmate, a formal bully of mine from grade school and she was obsessed with him. She had this evil look on her face and a couple knife with her, I got scared and yelled out his name, he came in a rush and saw what was happening... she then took out one of her knife and threw it at me, before I knew it, he was right in front of me, everything happened so fast I could barely react!" Kenma's voice cracked, tears were forming in his eyes again as he remembered what just happened.
"Oh, I'm so sorry for making you remember that," The paramedic looked at him with guilt in her eyes, Kenma didn't say anything and took Kuroo's hand.
The ambulance came to a stop and they rushed Kuroo inside, Kenma went in with them and saw Kuroo being rushed into the emergency surgery room. Kenma went to the waiting room and paced, Kuroo's parent came as soon as they heard the news. When they saw Kenma all three of them hugged and broke down together. Kuroo's parent wasn't only worried for their son, they were also worried for Kenma, Kenma was like a second son to them.
"I'm so sorry, it's all my fault," Kenma said as he sobbed harder. Kenma then explained to them what had happened. He was about to say something again but then got embraced by Kuroo's mom's hug. Kenma hugged her back, Kuroo's mom tightened her hug and said, "It's okay, it's not your fault," She comforted him. All three of them sat in the waiting room together until the doctor got out.
Hours past and they still haven't heard anything from anyone. Kenma fell asleep as his eyes were getting tired from crying.
"Poor boy, he must feel so guilty," Kuroo's mom said as she patted Kenma's head as he laid on her lap.
Kuroo's dad started pacing the floors as they waited. Finally the doctor came out from the surgery room, Kuroo's mom gently woke Kenma up. Kenma sat right up when he heard the doctor's voice.
"How is he? Is he okay?" Kenma jumped up.
"It's a miracle that he made it, if you called even just a minute later I don't think he'll be with us right now," The doctor informed them. Kuroo's mom had tears forming in her eyes again and Kenma just stood not knowing how to act.
"Can we see him?" Kenma asked.
"Yes, but he won't be awake for a while," the doctor said.
The moment Kenma heard that he rushed into Kuroo's room, Kuroo's parent followed him quickly. When Kenma walked into the room his heart sank, seeing Kuroo in such a state like that makes Kenma's heart hurts. Kenma took a chair to sit beside Kuroo's bed, he grabbed Kuroo's hand and cried into it.
"Don't leave me, please..." Kenma whispered as he laid his head down on the bed and eventually fell asleep while holding Kuroo's hand.Kuroo's POV
I woke up to an immense pain on the side of my stomach, I slowly opened my eyes and saw a bright light coming from the window, where am I? I looked around and realized I was in the hospital, on the other side I saw Kenma peacefully sleeping while holding my hands, I smiled and looked at his eyes. He's been crying, I can see the tiredness in his face. What happened anyways, I wondered as the morning light shine brighter into the room. I suddenly remembered what happened as Kenma stirred in his sleep, he was waking up from the light coming in the room. Seeing him waking up I tried to sit up but the pain on the side of my stomach felt like a knife was stabbing through me, well a knife did go through me. Kenma instantly realized what I was doing and told I shouldn't be sitting up in a worried voice.
"I'm so sorry!" He sobbed as he hugged me. "It should've been me, not you!"
"It's okay Kenma, I promised to protect you didn't I?"
"But still-,"
I couldn't see him cry anymore so I reached my hands up to his face and pulled his face down to kiss him. Tears were still coming out of his eyes but he kissed back. "I will always protect you, no matter what,"
He gave me a sad smile, "But I don't want you to get hurt,"
"It's okay, it doesn't take that much to kill me," I gave him a big smile as I wiped the tears off his face.A/N
