Past and Future : S.M.

chapter 2

First day of 1st grade.

"Andy, sweetie time to get up and ready for school" my mother softly said as the turned on my light to my room.

"I.....hmmmm ju....just a second...." I say sleepily.

I roll out of bed and land on my knees
I get dressed and walk down stairs.

"Mammy, I dont to go to school" I whined

"And why not?" Mom asked

"Because I dont know anyone there and all my friends are going to the private school across town" i replied

"Andy, look I'm sorry all your friends are going there but they have moms and dads who can afford it. You do not, I'm sorry." Mom said

I just sigh and grab two frozen waffles from the freezer and popping them into the toaster oven.

I finished eating my waffles, I grabbed my new school bag my mother bought me. And walked to the car and we left. 15 minutes later we arrived outside of the big front doors.

"Mom are you really sure I have to go? I mean I dont know anyone here, I'll be all by myself." I said

"I'm sorry Andy but yes you have to go in. And you'll make some new friends here, i promise you that. Okay?" She replied.

"Okay...." i said as i reached my hand to the door noob but was stopped by my moms voice.

"Hey, just be yourself. I love you" she said.

"Love you too mom" I said

I opened the door and got out. I walked up to the big doors and walked in. I walked into my first class of the day, and year.

"Hello everyone and welcome to 1st grade English. So everyone has an assigned seats, so finds yours and we'll start class in just a second!" The teacher says to the class.

I eye the room searching for my name and see it. I walk to it and sit down, i look to my left and a boy sitting there not talking to anyone.

"Hey" i say reaching my hand out for him to shake.

"Hey" he says reaching his hand out to shake mine.

"I'm Andrea but everyone calls me Andy" I say.

"I..I'm Sean, nice to meet you Andy" Sean says to me

"I think we should be friends, I dont have any here. So why not, you wanna be friends Sean?" I ask

"Sure why not, I don't have any either" he replied

"Great, well from now on were gonna be best friends okay?" I ask

"Yeah best friends!" He says and we both smile.

-after school-

"Hey mom!" I say getting into the back seat.

"Hey Andy, you sound like you had a good day!" She says

"Yeah I did, I met a new friend. His name is Sean" I say smiling.

"Ahh I see a boy" she says

"Mom its not like that! That's just gross!" I say in disgust and stinking out my tongue.

"Okay..... whatever you say" she says and we leave for home.
