Carr's mom's POV:

Carr came back early in the morning. I stuck my head out the door to thank Jared, so I was surprised to see that she had come home on her own. I tried to ask what happened, but Carr just didn't want to talk. I decided to leave her alone, but little Tupac had a different idea.

Carr's POV:

"Carr, Carr, Carr! You're back! Where did you go? Why didn't you say bye?" he said and then started to pout.

"Hey. Don't pout," I said, "it's not manly."

"Oh. Well then will you play with me? He screamed.

"Calm down and breath," I said stopping at the top of the stairs. Tupac didn't stop and ran right into my legs. He looked at me with puppy dog eyes. "Fine," I said, exasperated. I sighed, dropping my bags and let him pull me down the stairs.

He started to whine again, "I wanna play legos and cops. Come on Carr. You're too slow."

"Sigh"

Jared's POV:

I was in shock. I just couldn't believe I lost her again. It was like losing the sun. Maybe fate was just trying to tell me to give up because we're never going to be together. I didn't know what to feel, so I felt numb. I didn't know what to do, so I left. I left with no destination in mind except away. I simply walked outside and hopped on my motorcycle, not even bothering with a helmet, and rode away. I rode faster and faster, hoping to rid myself of all thoughts, all problems, everything, but I should've known that you can't run away from your problems, let alone yourself. Wherever you go, there you are. Looking back, I guess I just wanted to forget everything. I wanted to do exactly what Carr did. I finally understood why she did it; why she forgot everything.

I continued to accelerate until i was going as fast as my bike would allow. Then suddenly, I saw a light coming straight towards me. My heart beats so hard in my chest I thought it would break through and escape. I swerved just in time to avoid a collision with a drunk driver. Ever heard the saying, 'careful what you wish for'? Well, I wasn't because just as I avoided the first crash I changed my mind and decided it would have been better if I had just crashed and left this world which was so cruel as to take away my Sun twice, so it could not do it again, and then, part of my wish came true as I swerved right into the side of a semi-truck. I closed my eyes as I felt my body leave my bike in what seemed like slow motion. I hit the ground and felt my body shatter. I heard screaming, sirens, and loud noises all mixed together into a cacophony of sound. Then, the noises seemed to fade and I saw Carr and myself as kids. We were swinging from the jungle gym and singing. Then, the memory washed away with a tear on my cheek and was replaced with the strident noise, and the noise was replaced with utter silence as I was enveloped in darkness, successful in my escape.

Carr's POV:

Tupac and I was playing Hungry Hungry Hippos when he fell asleep. Mom called me from the kitchen, so I got up and walked inside the smallest room in our house and possibly the best smelling one. It always smelt like spices and herbs because my mom loved to use lots of seasoning when she cooked.

"Ya Mom," I answered when I entered the kitchen.

"Do you want to talk about what happened at Jared's"

"How dod you know where I was and do you know him?" I asked trying to read her face which was damn near impossible.

"We are friends, yes, and he called me," was all she would say.

"Ok. Well to answer your question, do not want to talk about it," I replied smartly, and irritated.

She dissmissed me so I walked into the living room and plopped down on he couch. I grabbed the TV remote and started flipping through the channels until I settled on the news."Let's watch people whose lives are worse than mine," I muttered sarcastically.

Five minutes and my eyelids felt heavier than lead bricks. "He's been identified as Jared Savan," he TV seemed to blare at me. I shot up and turned the volume up. There was no helping my curiosity.

Mom came in and her jaw dropped, "Oh my god," she said under her breath. They wouldn't show what was left of Jared, but they showed what was left of the bike and it looked like bloodied aluminum tissues.

"It was a miracle, but he survived. He is now in a vegitative state and is being rushed to the ER as we speak."

"Oh my," I didn't finish, because Tupac came in right at that moment having woken up from his nap, and began bawling. That seemed to wake us both from our trances because Mom rushed over to calm him down and I ran for the car keys.

Thirty seconds later and we were in the car racing towards the nearest hospital praying to God that it was the right one.
