Shikamaru

Laying in a field of flowers you look up at the sky letting the sun kiss your skin. You wish you could spend forever like this. Until a shadow hovers over you.

You open one eye and see a pineapple haired boy looking at you

"May I help you" you say closing your eye again

"You seem pretty comfortable there.. Mind if I join you?" He says his monotone voice ringing out

"Why not" you smile not bothering to open your eyes

He lays down next to you resting his hands under his head

"But try anything pervy and I'll hurt you. I'm a ninja yanno" you say raising an eyebrow and looking at him

"Don't act so special so am I" he says eyes towards the sky

Now that you were looking at him you recognized him.

"Shikamaru right? The kid who does shadow possession" you say slightly impressed

"Yep that's me" he says sighing

"I'm (y/n)" you say laying back down closing your eyes again

"I know" he says not bothering to move

You both laid there in a comfortable silence

"Do you ever just watch the clouds and wish you could be one?" He asks

"No" you say making a weird face even though your eyes were still closed

You didn't realize that every time you closed your eyes he stared at you

"I do. They just float along, going everywhere and doing nothing all in one" he says

"I guess I never thought about it like that" you say looking at him

He gazes back at the sky casually

"Yanno I like you Shikmaru, we should do this more often" you say stretching your hand out to his

He glances at you, your hand, and back to the sky before reaching his hand out to shake yours.

Months later and you still meet Shikamaru a few times a week to lay in the flowers. The only exceptions are for missions and bad weather.

Sometimes you would play Shogi. Shikamaru always beat you of course but there were a few times you almost had him.

You started developing feelings for him. He was different.

He's smart but never shows it off.

He's simple.

He can be quite funny.

It definitely didn't hurt that he was easy on the eyes.

You felt like he liked you back but you weren't sure.

He'd introduced you to his friends

You could defiantly tell he was nicer to you than he was to them.

One time he called you his troublesome woman. You weren't sure if that was a good or bad thing. You weren't even sure what it meant at all.

There was only one way you would find out.

You both quietly laid in the grass your eyes closed and his eyes on you.

It was comfortable

"Shikamaru" you say

"That's my name" he sighs

"What's a troublesome woman" you ask eyes still closed

His eyes widen a little bit before he returns back to his calm manner

"Women who can be maddening to their spouses are considered troublesome woman" he said in a matter of fact tone.

"You called me your troublesome woman one  time remember?" you said turning on your side facing him

"That I did" he says still looking at the sky

He didn't think you heard him. He refused to turn and look at you because he knew for a fact he would turn red

"Hn" you said staring at him contemplating

He decided his best move was to take control over the situation

"Because you are MY troublesome woman right?" He asks sitting up and looking at you

You smile happily as you he confirmed he did like you back.

You sit up and he watches you.

You then sit on his lap facing him looking him in the eyes.

Shikamaru had never felt so nervous in his life.

He couldn't plan out a strategy if he didn't know what your next move was.

For all he knew this could be a stupid prank.

You knew it wasn't though

You liked Shikmaru and Shikamaru liked you.

You leaned in closing the space between you and pressed your lips against his.

Shikumaru held himself up using his hands because he was pretty sure he'd fall over in excitement if he didn't

Ew getting excited over a girl?? What a draaag.

"I'll happily be your troublesome woman" you say

He smiles at you and kisses you again.

"This isn't a drag at all"
