His Secret

12. Who cares?

The next day I woke up because of the dreaded sound of my alarm clock. I rubbed my eyes violently, trying to clear my vision and than yawned widely.

I got up, about to trip but luckily caught the edge of my bed and steady up. Ugh I want more sleep. Altough I slept 14 hours but I  still feel like I haven't slept in months. This is what happens everytime, it's nothing new!

I went to the bathroom and did my business. After I was done I headed downstairs, today was saturday that means no school. I saw dad and mom at the table, talking about something. I sighed when I  remember the conversation from yesterday. They both are leaving today and I won't be able to see them for two weeks. Damn life.

"Hey!" I said as I entered the kitchen and made myself some cereal. "Hey!" They both said in unison. "Lena I'm leaving at 4." Mom informed.

"And I'm leaving at 3." I heard dad. I really felt the urge to cry.

I approached them and hugged them tightly, not wanting to leave them my entire life. "I'm gonna miss ya both." I said

"We too, sweety." Dad kissed my cheek.

"Lena. I talked to Joe as she is next door. You'll be staying at hers for two weeks." Mom said and my eyes goes widened.

"What? No please not them!" I said, thinking how will I survive two weeks with that dumbass Daniel. Sure he's sweet and all but sometimes he annoys the hell out of me and I didn't want to be tortured for 2 weeks.

"You said you can't survive alone and we won't leave you alone either. THE Francis family is the best choise, they all adore you specially joe." Dad said and I rolled my eyes. "As long as I don't have another choise FINE!" I said and went up to my room to pack some stuff as mom and dad will obviously lock the house.

"Bye sweetheart. Take care." Mom and dad kissed my cheek and I hugged them tight. "Bye, Take care.  love you." I said and they replied with a sweet smile and 'Love you too.'

They both got into the cab and I  waved them good bye. I saw as the cab went away and I sighed not wanting them to leave.

I turned around and made my way towards  the Francis'. I rang the doorbell and after sometime the door swung open revealing Daniel.

"Oh hey there!" He chirped. "I heard from mom that you're  staying here for two weeks. Isn't that cool, hu?" He smiled like a happy kid.

"Very cool!" I sarcastically said. Noticing my sarcasm, he playfully rolled his eyes and guestured me to come in.

I got in and greeted Joe. "I'm soo happy your staying here!" She said just as happy as her son.

I didn't know they would be this excited to see me. I have completely opposite feelings here.

I forced a smile and she told me to go and take a seat. I went in followed By Daniel.

After sometime I started to feel tired and asked Daniel to show me my room. He lead me to a guest room just around the corner and told me to call him if I  needed something.

Sure sure.

Once he was gone. I got comfortable on the huge king sized bed and put my hands behind the back of my head, admiring the room.

Daniel's whole house was very neat. With neatly dusted and nice furniture in every corner. I wonder how much his mother has to work to clean this house.

The day rolled off and soon it was night. I had my dinner with Joe, Daniel, Mr. Francis and Emma.

After we were done I rushed to my room and face timed  Cole and then drifted off to sleep, tired from  the stressfull day.

"God! Get up Lena! You'll be late." Someone shouted in my ear. "Five minutes." I mumbled drifting back to sleep but the person didn't let me sleep.

"God, woman. GET UP! We have school!" I recognized the sound as Daniel's. He pushed the covers off me and shook me uncontrollably. "Daniel! Stop!" I sat up and glared at him.

"Sorry but I had to." He stuck his tounge out at me and then turned towards the bag that I brought my clothes in. He opened it and rumaged through my clothes. "Hmm wear this." He took out my red hoodie . I quickly got up and snatched it from his hand. "Out please. This is my bag."

"Sure sure." He said and rolled his eyes before turning around and getting out. "Come fast everybody is waiting for you on the breakfast table and you'll be late too."

Dad usually wakes me up for school so I don't set alarm at night and yesterday night I forgot to set the alarm because I am not used to it.

I quickly changed into a grey hoodie and headed downstairs and joined everybody at the breakfast table.

"Hey." I greeted them and they all greeted in unison. "Hey! I took out the red one for you." Daniel pouted at me.

"Who cares?" I playfully rolled my eyes and sat beside Emma on the table. She smiled at me and I returned the smile. "You look pretty." She said and I smiled "Thank you, Emma. You look pretty too."

We started the breakfast and to be honest they all never even once made me realize that I'm not a part of their fmily. They all really treated me like their own family. Emma kept me company most of the time along with Joe. And Daniel... well, He's nice too. We usually play Xbox and  play station together and the fun fact is that I beat him everytime he brags about being a pro. Too much confidence isn't good.

Afer the breakfast Daniel quickly headed outside saying he had a project to complete before the first class and I helped Joe with cleaning the dishes.

"My class will  start in 10 mins. I better leave." I said as I put the last plate in the dish washer and whiped my hands with the towel and checked the time on my wrist watch.

"Sure honey. Have fun." She smiled.

"Fun? In school? Sure." I laughed playfully and she joined too.

Guess this journey with the Francis family will be amazing.
