13. No lock?

That day I went back at Daniel's  home. I was tired as usual so I took a nap. When I woke up I headed downstairs and saw Joe stuffing some cash in her purse and Daniel was sitting on the couch with his legs on the table and remote in hand and eyes fixed on the tv screen, watching Supernatural.

"Hey." I greeted Joe, "Hey." She replied back.

"I'm going to the mart. Emma is in her dancing class and Francis is at work but Daniel's here-" then she turned to Daniel and said. "Daniel keep some company to the guest." Then turned back to me. "And feel free to do anything. Foods in the fridge if you're hungry. Bye, deer." She smiled and headed outside.

"Wanna watch something?" I heard Daniel. "Nah! I wanna walk." I said and started to walk up to my room to get my phone when he said. "Let's go to the park." I nodded at him and told him to wait.

I quickly got up and grabbed my phone then skipped back downstairs.

We both headed outside to the nearest park. Talking and laughing, we got icecream and sat on the nearest bench.

"What's wrong with Carter? Why is he acting that way towards you?" He asked as I licked the side of the ice cream cone. "Don't know. I was gonna ask the same question. He is your best friend, shouldn't you know why is he acting weird?" I asked.

"I and Issac tried our best to know but you know.. his stubborness won't let him tell. He never hides anything from us but god knows what happened this time." He shrugged his shoulders.

I inwardly scoffed yeah he never hides anything from you or Isaac.

"Oh." Was all I said for now. We quickly finish our icecreams and headed back home. We were in the middle of watching a creepy movie when the door bell rang.

Why do people keep on intrupting when the movie is right in the middle of getting creepier?

Daniel stood up and went towards the door. When he didn't come back, after 5 minutes I stood up and got to the door and saw Carter standing there with his hands in the pocket of his jeans.

When his eyes landed on me, he  narrowed his eyes at me. Like, What the hell did you just do?

"What is she doing here?" He asked Daniel. He turned around and saw me. "Oh she! She's staying here for two weeks. Her parents are out of town and this little girl here is afraid of staying alone so she is staying here." He chuckled and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Why didn't you tell me before?" Carter asked Daniel.

He did not?

"Uh I forgot." He scratched the back of his head. "Well, I better get going."Carter said.

"But you said you wanted to tell me something." Daniel raised an eyebrow at him.

"Yeah later, when she is not around." Carter shoot me a cold glare and was about to exit when I stopped him by saying. "Why are you acting this way towards me? What's wrong?" He didn't even turn around and said "Nothing" before storming off towards his car and speeded off.

"HU?" I was shocked by the sudden reaction. I thought he was gonna stay and tell me what have I done. Daniel just said that Carter wanted to tell him something but when he saw me he walked away.. why?

I knew this was not something big and not that I even care but I  was still determined to find out the reason behind this rudeness.

"Um.. ignore him.. Let's continue the movie." Daniel said and dragged me inside the house and plopped on the couch. When I didn't bulge, he pulled me causing to land straight on the couch.

He suppressed his laughter and continued watching the moive.

"Hey?" Someone nudged me. I turned around, blocking the person but he whispered again. "Hey!! Wake up." I opened my eyes and found myself lying on the sofa. Daniel was bent down beside the sofa. Why is he whispering?

"What happened?" I asked while rubbing my eyes. We both were watching a movie and maybe I fell asleep while watching it.

"I'm sneaking out. You wanna come?" He asked me. "What time is it?" I asked, still rubbing my eyes and getting up from the sofa.

"2am." He said and my eyes widened. "Really? But why are you sneaking and where to go?" I asked.

"Issac is throwing a mini party. Just me, Carter, him and you. He invited you too as you're staying over." He smiled.

"He usually does this... midnight mini sneaking parties." He added.

"No  don't wanna go. Carter will be there and I don't want to see him." I simply denied the offer.

"Oh please. You both can work things out. This is the best apportunity for you to talk to him and sort things out. Besides nobody will know. Dad is not home I dont think he will come anytime soon mom and Emma are sleeping and they both are heavy sleepers." He told me. Trying his best to convince me to come.

"How long will we be gone?" I asked.

"Don't know. But no worries. If we get late than I'll just message mom that we left early for school but we'll skip. How's that?" He winked.

"Skip! No way. My parents will kill me if they come to know." I said not wanting to get caught because of some stupid midnight mini sneaking party.

"Oh comeon! They won't know. Now get up. We gotta go." He pulled me upwards and dragged me out side the house, towards his car. Closing the door quitely and starting the engine, trying to make the least noise.

"Let me change!!" I said looking down at my clothes. "No worries. It's just us and well, look at me." He said and I rolled my eyes.

It was about 15 minute ride to Issac's place. His house was quite big as compared to mine and Daniel's. We both got out and Daniel push opened the front door. No lock?

We both entered and I saw the other two already there. "Hola, amigos." Daniel greeted. And they both greeted back. "Hey Lena." Issac said but Carter said nothing to me.

You both can work things out. This is the best apportunity for you to talk to him and sort things out. Daniel's words rang in my ears.k sighed and plopped down on the couch.
