the door swung open a second after VINCENT had sent his text. his eyes were wide as he stared at the man before him. LUKE stood there with a bouquet of flowers in his hand and a soft smile on his face. behind him were BONNIE, ISADORA, and the remaining members of 5 seconds of summer. they all held signs that read out:

"YOU BETTER SAY YES, BITCH!"

vincent let out a soft chuckle at his and luke's friends before glancing up at the taller man. "you son of a bitch. how long have you guys been planning this?"

"for a few weeks," luke admitted. "ever since dora knew when we were coming back home. she would've beaten me up if i didn't come meet you."

the pair grinned at dora's stifled chuckle. she was looking fondly at the two men, bonnie's head leaning on her shoulder and dora's arm around her girlfriend. they snuck out once vincent texted luke. calum was recording the entire moment, shifting to the two women then back to vincent and luke.

"so," luke started, "i know we haven't known each other for super long; it's been what, a few months?"

"how do you not remember??" ashton yelled, sending everyone into a fit of giggles. michael punched his shoulder.

luke was the first to stop laughing. "as i was saying... don't feel like you have to say yes ─" vincent glanced over at their friends, who were shaking their signs "─ but i, lucas robert hemmings, am asking you, vincent ryan ripley, to be my boyfriend."

there was a moment of silence before vincent broke out into a grin. "of course i'd love to, you fucking idiot!"

he nearly launched himself at luke, who hardly had any time to hand the flowers back to michael before wrapping his arms around vincent. they were a grinning mess as luke spun him around in the air. he slowed to a stop when they were parallel to their friends.

"can i kiss you?" luke mumbled, a hand on vincent's cheek. he was staring right into his boyfriend's eyes.

"if you didn't, i think everyone would beat you up," vincent said and stood on his toes to kiss luke. they kissed while their friends cheered in the background, calum letting them have a small moment to themselves as he filmed the others freaking out over the kiss.

once they pulled away, luke pressed a quick kiss to vincent's lips. "i'm gonna go cuddle with my boyfriend! you guys can follow if you want, and deal with us being gay and shit."

vincent had the biggest smile on his face as he grabbed luke's hand and dragged him inside. dora and bonnie were the first to follow, then michael and ashton. calum stood outside to finish the video.

"that happened," he said to his phone with a small laugh before turning serious. "if you give either of them ─ or dora and bonnie ─ shit for being gay, i will come and fight you personally." his face morphed into a smile. "and that's all, folks! have a nice day!"

he ended the video and hurried inside, plopping himself on his friends as bonnie started up a movie and dora passed around snacks and drinks.

and everything was alright.
