CHAPTER FOUR

SPENCER

When spencer came back from the hospital, Melissa was waiting for her.

-Where were you? She asked immediately.

-Hello, good to see you too and I was at the hospital. Spencer said trying to teach Melissa how to be polite.

-Why? Melissa asked.

-Because.... Emma.... Spencer was silent.

-What? Melissa pushed her.

-Melissa, please! This day hasn't been very welcoming so if you don't mind,  I will be up in my room, alone. Okay? Spencer said tired. Melissa didn't say anything. Spencer went up in her room and locked the door. She didn't want anyone to disturb her. Just when she took her boots off and layed down on her giant bed with soft pillows on it, her phone made a noise.

"See how easy it is for me to bring you bitches down? I suggest you the next time you see Toby, you better say a final goodbye because you're next! 
       
         -A"

Spencer quikly stood up and looked at the message -A had sent her. She wanted to call Toby, but at that moment she got a call. Good news, it was just Emily. Spencer accepted the call.

-Hey Em how are you?

-Not so good... Still sad. I think I'm going over later. How about you? Spencer could hear Emily crying through the phone. She wanted to tell her about the text, but she didn't.

-Okay. Hey, I forgot that we have to take her phone. You never know who can see it. We can not lose that phone. Spencer informed.

-I took it with me before we left. Don't worry about it. I'll hide it somewhere.... It was silent for a minute but Emily broke it.

-Hey Spence, I have to go, talk to you later okay? Emily said.

-Kay. Spencer replied. Before she even hung up, her hands started dialing Toby's number and called him.

-Hey Tobs, can you come over please? Spencer asked.

-Yes! Of course! What's wrong? He answered with a soft and worried voice.

-Just... Come over...

-I'll be there in five minutes! Toby closed the phone and literally he was there within five minutes. Melissa opened.

-Hi, Spencer's not home. She said.

-She asked me to come, please let me in. Toby replied, trying not to yell at her.

-Fine... She's upstairs. She answered not knowing what happened. Toby ran up the stairs and when he saw Spencer,  he saw a tear running down her face.

-Spence! He said running towards her.

-What happened? He tried to calm her down. Spencer said nothing she just gave him the phone and said.

-Emma is in a coma because of -A! She said as he read the messege.

~Toby met Emma the first day she arrived. They were on very good terms~

-You better say a final goodbye because you're next....Spencer! Toby read out and looked deep into her brown eyes. Spencer left another tear. Toby gave her a hug.

-I'm afraid! She cried on his shoulder.

-I won't let anything happen to you okay? Nothing! Toby calmed her.

-You don't know what -A is capable of. Spencer whispered.

-I don't. But I want to protect you... He answered.

-Spencer! Can I come in? Melissa said from outside the door. Spencer quikly whiped off her tears and opened the door.

-What is it? Spencer asked.

- Mom and dad called. They will be here any minute and Toby has to leave. Melissa said with a calm voice. Spencer nodded. Melissa left and Spencer told Toby about her parents coming home so he left.

As Toby left her house, he got into his truck. He sat there for a while. After trying to figure out where he wanted to go, he started the truck and drove to the hospital.

When he arrived, he got out of his car and went inside to visit Emma. He walked towards the secretary.

-Excuse me, on which floor is Emma Parker? He asked. He looked around as the woman behind the desk was searching for the name he asked for. He saw a few patients, doctors and a girl with black glasses. She was tall, with dark hair, holding a long white stick in one of her hands. Toby new without a doubt who that was. It was Jenna Marshall or Jenna Cavanaugh, Toby's stepsister. Jenna was blind. Toby wondered why she was in the waiting room because the only reason why Jenna would appear in a hospital, is because she had an operation for her eyes, something she went through a few weeks ago but sadly didn't work. As he decided he didn't want to look at her anymore, he turned around to see the nurse.

-Emma Parker is on floor 4 sir, room 20785

-Thanks. He answered and left.

As he got out of the elevator he ran to every door searching for the number the nurse gave him. Finally, when he found the right door he went in and saw Emma laying on a bed. She was covered with tubes everywhere. Toby wasn't sure if it was a good idea to get in, but he did. He sat next to her.

-Hi...um... I'm sorry for what happened to you. Toby said looking at her even though he knew she wouldn't reply. He slowly grabbed her hand and held it in his hands.

-I can't be here, but I want to. The girls are heartbroken and... You don't have a family here so I decided to come here and stay with you. Toby continued.

-Spencer told me everything about you. And I will be right here beside you. Toby said.

All of a sudden he got a text.

'Well well, seems like you care a lot about everyone. Maybe it's good to start caring about yourself. You never know what can happen within these days!

-A'

That was chapter four! Sorry that I haven't been publishing, but I was busy... My friends and I are writing a book together and I didn't have time.
