"You did it. Isabelle. You've lived up to everything you were meant to be," the chorus of voices said into the darkness around me. "You are and will always be a Malfoy." Peace filled me as the silver light weaved around my body.
—
I felt calm as I lay there. I don't know how long I had laid there but in that time my body had mended each wound with the help of my mother. I opened my eyes to find myself in my room. Sunlight flowed in through the window as I sat up slowly. I looked over my skin for any signs of weakness, I found none. I got to my feet calling my wand to me. I smiled softly before I headed downstairs. I found Draco sitting in the parlor reading a book. I ran over to him throwing my arms around him. He dropped the book returning the hug."Hi Dray," I said as he pulled back smiling at me.
"You're awake I see," he said as I nodded.
"Awake and fully healed. What happened after I passed out?" I asked taking a seat beside my brother.
"The Order gave up. Shortly after Tom announced Harry had died the members of the Order stopped fighting. The only one who didn't was Ginny. She tried to attack Tom but nothing happened," Draco said as I smirked. "You did something didn't you?" Draco said as I nodded.
"I bound her magic with mine," I said simply. "I offered her an out, she refused. I couldn't just kill her. She was nice before she found out I was a Malfoy," I told Draco.
"After she attempted to attack Tom she was sent to Azkaban," Draco said. "The rest of the Order joined her."
"All of the Order has been handled?" I asked as Draco nodded. I felt the tension lifting off me knowing we didn't have any loose ends. "How is everyone? I didn't see Severus at all before I passed out?" I stated with concern.
"Tom made Harry think Severus was on the Order's side. He used various spells to make it seem like he had killed the Professor when in reality he was fine," Draco responded. "That's why Harry turned himself in to the Dark Lord the first time." My eyes widened in surprise at how much effort that must have taken from both Tom and Severus. "As for everyone else we didn't lose anyone close to us. The twins are fine, Bella's fine."
"How are mom and dad?" I asked when Draco hadn't listed them. Draco smiled at me as he spoke.
"They are fine. Mom's worried about you but she's fine. Dad got a few minor scrapes but he's mostly better at this point. Refused to be healed. Think he wanted to have proof he was a warrior." Draco laughed before continuing. "He is at the Ministry helping Tom reorder the wizarding world," Draco said as I played with the family crest hanging around my neck. My mind kept drifting to my mother as I sat beside Draco.
"Where's mom?" I asked as Draco motioned towards the kitchen.
"When she's stressed she either cooks or cleans. I think she's cleaning right now," Draco said as I frowned. I didn't want her to worry about me. I got up instantly heading towards the kitchen.
I stood in the doorway for a moment watching as she scrubbed at the dishes. Her blue eyes stared out the window. I could see a darkness in her blue eyes, the fear in her eyes made my heart clench. I took a shaky breath to make sure I was as strong as I could be before I moved any closer to her. I walked over to her sending a wave of my silvery magic to lift some of the plates. I smirked as she froze dropping the cup in her hand. She spun towards me with wide eyes as I grinned at her.
"Isabelle," she breathed before she pulled me into her arms. I rested my head against her chest as I wrapped my arms around her waist. "How are you feeling?" She asked holding me at arms length with her blue eyes searching for any lingering injuries she needed to heal.
"Good as new," I said firmly. She smiled at me before she spoke.
"We need to go see your father," she said as she took my hand in hers apperating us away. I looked around realizing we were at the Ministry. I shifted uncomfortably as all eyes fell on me.
"People are staring," I whispered moving closer to my mother. Why were they staring?
"You're a hero Isabelle," my mother said with a grin as she wrapped her arm around my shoulders. She let me hide my face in her side as we walked through the Ministry. She led me down a dark hallway and into a big office. The door opened and I found my father working away at his elegant desk. He was so buried in his work he hadn't noticed our arrival. "Lucius." My mother said catching his attention. His grey eyes snapped up filling with joy at the sight of me.
"Belle," he said getting to his feet quickly. He strode over to me pulling me into a tight hug.
"Hi dad," I said softly as he continued to hold me tightly against his body.
"How are you feeling Isabelle? Are you in any pain? Has Tom seen you yet?" Dad rambled off question after question before I cut him off.
"Dad I'm fine. I don't have any pain at all. I'm glad this is finally over," I told him as he looked into my eyes. Tears of joy were pooled in his grey eyes as he looked at me. We could finally be a normal family without having to look over our shoulders any longer.
"Me too Bells," he said kissing my forehead. "And it's over because of you."
"I didn't do anything that spectacular. I didn't kill Harry," I told my father blushing under the constant compliments from my parents. I didn't deserve the fame I was getting. I only did what I thought was right, that doesn't make me a hero. Tom was a hero, not me.
"You may not see it but you are a hero!" My father said with pride shining in his eyes. "You are so young and yet you act as if you've been around for centuries. I learn so much from you Belle."
"I love you," I said softly unable to think of any other response. He smiled at me in response.
"I love you too Bells. Now, lets go find Tom," my father said wrapping his arm around my shoulders. He took my mother's hand with his other. We walked together to the elevator and went straight to the Minister of Magic's office. We stepped inside the office as within a few seconds Tom had noticed us. Tom instantly pulled me into a hug while my parents stood off to the side.
"Miss Malfoy. I'm glad to see you well," Tom said as I smiled at him.
I looked around at the three adults who cared deeply for me. I grinned at them as a loving warmth filled me before I spoke. "I'm glad everything is over. My only question is now what?"
