"Everything has gone to shit," Hoseok whispered harshly, head buried in his hands, "please come back."

Taehyung's room felt grey and dull.
It didn't matter who entered his room in however many layers of clothing, a cold chill would always run down their spine and an unsettling feeling would always settle in their chest.

"I hate your room, Taehyung. I hope you get a new one soon, no offence." Hoseok voice was louder this time, he raised his head from his hands to look at the boy.

He looked the same. The same he has looked for two years.

Pale, skinny, sickly-

Sleeping.
Hoseok decided to pretend his friend was sleeping. He would wake up soon. He was sure of it. He could feel it.

To make something happen, you have to believe in it -- who else would believe in Taehyung if not him?

"Ahh, Jungkook's been neglecting his studies! He just plays video games all day and night nowadays, he was more serious about studying when he was in High School, wasn't he? He even graduated early, that kid... Jiminie's practising now more than ever. It's like he devotes his entire self into it. He's always improving, even if he's already at his best... I'm proud of him, I just hope he doesn't neglect his health... I'm still a brilliant tutor, as always."

Hoseok sighed, reaching his hand out to brush some stray hairs out of Kim Taehyung's face. He pulled out chapstick from his pocket and ran it gently over the sleeping boy's lips.

"I have to do this every time," he muttered a bit saltily to himself, "can't stand to see your chapped lips. You're lucky I'm here, you know!"

There was a pause. As if Hoseok was waiting for a response he knew would never come. He was talking to a brick wall but the silence never discouraged him.

"Oh! Remember the female version of you? We've been spending more time together. I think we're officially friends now. I remember her from years ago, she was so different back then... she bullied students for petty reasons and argued with her so-called friends a lot. Ah, I remember her never doing school work and disrespecting teachers! She's grown so much since then. Riza's really hardworking now. I don't know if her turning into you is a good thing or not though, but nonetheless the similarities between you two are amazing!

She runs her hand through her hair when she's frustrated or upset, she also does that one eyebrow raise thing, you know what I mean, she reads the books you used to read all the time, she talks like you, has the same values and opinions as you," Hoseok was on a roll now, his genuine smile managed to light up Taehyung's dead hospital room and even the sun had peeked its way out of the clouds. Taehyung's heart-rate monitor beeping was the only response Hoseok had gotten from his rant so far. He didn't falter, taking his friends hand in his instead.

"She does the thing where she disses people in the most polite way, the way only you could get away with! I was awestruck the first time I saw it happen, I swear," he paused suddenly, a chuckle making its way out of his mouth, "I know what you would say right now: that those are all just coincidences and a lot of people have those quirks. Or you'd call me a stalker for knowing so much about the girl and accuse me of having a crush on her."

Hoseok smiled softly: "But that's not it. Her similarities to you just caught my eye, I didn't think much of it at first... but I've really seen her, I've talked to her-"

Hoseok's voice broke at the end of his sentence, he knew his eyes were watering, a choked up sob wanted to make its way out but he didn't allow it, forcing a smile to push it back.
"She- she feels like you, Taehyung. She feels so much like you and I-- I miss you."

Hoseok's breath hitched. His eyes widened as he stared at his and Taehyung intertwined hands. The younger was squeezing his hand. Tightly. There was no mistaking the pressure Hoseok felt around his right hand.

"Taehyung?" Hoseok's voice shook, his eyes glazed over again, "ah, Taehyungie, I knew you could hear me."

The sudden raise of Taehyung's pulse caused Hoseok's smile to falter, the heart-rate monitor's beeping was only becoming louder and faster.

"This can't be good," he muttered, eyes wide in panic, he pulled his hand out of Taehyung's grip and ran towards the door, "nurse! Doctor! Please help, something's happening to him!"
