The Coffee Shop

Chapter 2

I make sure to take my resume with me before leaving the apartment then start going down to the coffee place. It's not a very long walk from what Google maps said at least I find it at the next block a little further, I go in I tell one of the people working there how I'd like to talk to the main person in charge the girl working behind the counter goes to get their boss. I look around the Starbucks it's really big it's not a small location which is great since it seems to get busy. 

A woman comes out up to me saying her name is Marlene I tell her my name is Michelle I was thinking of working here if they're hiring she says they have room for other people they aren't full with a lot of staff so far. I tell her that's great then I brought my resume with me if you would like to take a look at it she says sure. I give it to her she reads it on why I want to work at a coffee place and what experience I have in the world of work. She finishes reading it handing it back to me she says she likes what was written smiling at me I smile back at her. 

She says tomorrow I can start my shift here which will be the early morning one that starts at 9:00 am to 5:00 pm I say okay I'll be here tomorrow on time. I say bye to her and the workers who are in today thanking them then heading back home I'm so glad I finally got a job !!. 

Once I'm back at home I call my parents to tell them the great news, they're so happy for me that I was able to find a job around near by so at least now I can pay off everything soon after. I end the call to have lunch feeling so happy I'm glad things turned out well for my day. 

After I do some cleaning around the apartment then listen to some music the weather is gorgeous outside it's finally spring thank god winter is done with. I call my best friend telling her how everything how I've settled into my new apartment and how I got a job near by she's so happy for me. I tell her I'm so glad today things turned out well for me after I moved and how much I miss her she says she misses me too awe. 

We plan to meet up soon depending on our schedules since she has a job too that she's really busy with after that I end the call. Then it's time for dinner I have sweet potatoes they're amazing ah and have tea after. After I make my lunch to take to my new job tomorrow keeping it in the fridge then preparing for bed, I set my alarm clock for 7:00 am I can't wait to start at my new job.

The next day I wake up on time to my alarm beeping then getting ready for work I have a light breakfast and coffee to wake me up then prepare my bag that I'm taking. I make sure to have everything I need since it's going to be a long shift first time doing an eight hour shift hope it goes well. When it's 8:30 I leave my apartment building walking down to the next block it's kind of busy on the streets now since it's rush hour once I reach the Starbucks I see someone opened it already. I'm guessing it's the person I'm working with on shift today at least I'm not by myself. 

I go inside seeing a girl setting up the counter I say hi to her my name is Michelle I'll be working with you today. She says hi saying her name is Lily it's a pleasure to meet me then I ask her where my stuff goes she takes me to the back there's a room. That's where all of the staff's stuff goes I thank her hanging up my coat then taking my lunch out of my bag to put into the fridge. 

I help Lily to set up everything she tells me where everything goes since it's my first day here I start getting the hang of things little by little now we're all set up we're ready for business. It's not that busy so far only two customers have come I'm on cash while Lily does the drinks for now. She says the boss usually comes at 10:00 or 10:30 so it's just us for the time being then she shows me how to use the cappucino machine and how to do the cold drinks. 

Two customers come in one orders a cappucino and the other one orders an espresso I tell them to wait at the other side then make the drinks. They turn out fine at least then hand over their orders they say thank you and leave. Lily smiles at me saying Michelle you did a good job with making drinks on your first day here I smile at her back saying I'm glad things are turning out well. 

After that things start picking up more into the morning then the boss comes in at 10:00 she goes into the back. Once it's quiet again Marlene comes out I tell her how I'm starting to get the hang of things here I really like it she's glad I'm enjoying my new job.
