The Coffee Shop

Chapter 4

The next day I wake up from my alarm clock as usual then get ready for work my morning routine. I have breakfast and coffee then check my phone to see if anyone texted me. My mom and Shawn both have I check my mom's first. 

Mom: Hey baby girl I hope your day will go well it will go by quickly since it's busy for you love you xoxoxo. 

Michelle: Hi mom thank you same to you I love you too xoxoxo. 

Shawn: Hey Michelle I hope your day goes well at work I can't wait to see you later on after your shift is over :). 

Michelle: Hi Shawn thank you I can't wait either it'll be great to hang out more when I'm free from work. 

Shawn: Yep I woke up early today couldn't really sleep I'm going to work on some stuff from class since I'll be coming to see you later on have a good day beautiful :). 

I look at my phone screen again he's called me that he sure to be liking me fast. After that I take my bag with my lunch then start heading out on my way to work I see Lily also walking I catch up with her saying hi she looks at me kind of surprised since we haven't bumped into each other on the way. So this is great to walk together to work at least it's busy now as usual outside then we get to Starbucks Lily opens the door since she's the one who has the keys. 

We put our stuff away we start setting everything up I set up the tables after that we're ready for business. Two customers come in soon after Lily is on cash taking their orders I do their drinks they turn out well again at least then it's back to being quiet for now. I start to tell Lily everything about how it went when Shawn texted me she looks really happy for me she thinks he's planning on asking me out next I tell her that's not possible we just started talking. 

All Shawn did was ask to hang out to get to know each other more Lily thinks he's trying to go out with me soon after. Soon some customers come around after 9:30 I'm on cash while Lily gets everyone's orders once everyone leaves with their drinks and food the boss comes in at 10:00. She smiles at us seeing how well we work together she goes into the back to work then again we have other customers coming in at least the time is going by faster being busy. 

At 11:00 I go for my lunch break I check to see if my mom texted me she has and so has Shawn. 

Mom: Hi love I hope you're doing okay at work I miss you xoxoxo. 

Shawn: Hey Michelle hope you're doing well at work since I won't be in until later I already miss you :). 

Shawn sure is caring I like that about him first I text my mom. 

Michelle: Hey mom everything's alright busy as usual at work I'm on my lunch break now I miss you xoxoxo.  I won't be able to call you later on right after I finish work I'm hanging out with someone for dinner. 

Mom: That's good I love you baby girl enjoy your dinner out with your friend. I'm going back to work have a great day xoxoxo

Michelle: Okay have a good afternoon mom I love you too xoxoxo.

My lunch break is almost over it's back to being behind the counter then Lily goes for her break it's kind of busy. A couple of customers come in asking for drinks and food I take their orders then once it's clear again Lily comes back from her break at 12:00. We get a line of customers after that I do the cash while Lily does the food and drinks after that it slows down for a little while. 

At 1:00 the delivery man comes with a few packages some orders that were needed since we were short on supplies and a bouquet of flowers he says there's a letter on it addressed to me I see my name written. They're roses my favourite flower cool Lily gives me a big smile saying she can guess who sent me these. I open the envelope taking out a piece of paper to read what it says.
