§·Your POV·§

||Time: 10:00 am ||

After Sebastian and I had our 'Fun', I went directly to work, doing my morning rounds around the manor. I was in the garden doing rounds when I heard Mey-Rin calling my name.

"Miss Evelyn!! Miss Evelyn!!" Mey-Rin shouted, while running up to me from behind.

I turned around to look at her and she almost tripped and fell on me but I caught her, before it was too late.

"Oh gosh-! I'm so sorry! Thank you, Miss Evelyn!" She said while standing up to her feet.

"It's no problem Mey-Rin. Did you happen to need something?" I asked her, curious to, why she was calling my name in such a rush.

"The Young Master asked me to tell you that he needs you in his office!" She said politely.

"Oh thank you for telling me Mey-Rin." I said waving to her as I went off to go to see what the Young Earl needed.

When I had finally made it to the Earl's Office I made sure to knock, It would be rude to just barge in.

"You may come in." I heard a small voice say as I opened the door and walked up to the Young Earl's desk.

I looked at the Young Earl, for some reason he seemed quite annoyed today. But I saw it fit that I did not ask him, as it could make him even more upset.

"Sebastian... Had told me that 'Lady Adalynn' is your real mother. I have to admit that you both looked alike. I am a bit curious to see if she is your mother, also England would benefit greatly if Lady Adalynn was back to take care of her duties." The Young Earl said. "So I will show charity in helping you to find her, Only on one condition." His plain expression slowly turned into a playful smirk; when he had finished his last sentence.

"And those conditions are?" I asked curiously; to what he could even possibly want.

"Beat me in a game of chess." He said, folding his hands together and placing his chin on top, with that same playful smirk on his face.

"What--" I scoffed in disbelief.

Beat him in a game of chess?! So that is his condition? Smh... I am trying to be serious, But this... this... THIS LITTLE BOY just wants to play games. How immature. At the same time, I should be grateful it's only a game of chess. So it should be simple. Right?

"Ah.. Do you have any problem with that, Miss Evelyn? Or are you scared I may beat you at chess." He said smiling slyly.

"Actually I d-" I caught Sebastian giving me a side glare and I decided to change my answer. "Actually, That will be fine. That is your only condition correct?"

"I suppose that will be my only condition for now.." He said in a sly sounding voice.

"I'm sorry.. What do you mean by 'only condition for now'...?" I was a bit shocked at his words. "Once you make a deal you can't just change it at any given time! If that is what you're implying."

"Oh.. But you see... since I'm the one who proposed the deal, I think it would be fit that I have the power to change it at any time," He said smiling cunningly. "That I want."

"How does that even make sense-"

"I think the Young Lord is trying to say that you are in no position to compromise or to try to change his mind. It's either you work with him or you're on your own. In this situation you are at his mercy." Sebastian said plainly while glaring at me to tone my attitude down.

I couldn't believe my ears. I know he was saying this accordance to the Young Lord's will.... But.. He didn't have to say that. I m-mean it's not that I'm expecting him to be nice to me or something because of the 'moment' we've shared..But after that 'insult' I shouldn't let them know I've taken any offense to it.

"...Thank you for reminding me of my place here." I said sarcastically.

"Sebastian, Please go get the chess set and set the game up." The Young Lord said while tilting his head to the side and held his head up using his hand in a bored way.

"Yes, My Lord." Sebastian said while grabbing the chessboard from a shelf and returning to the young lord's desk to set it up.

|| After Sebastian had set up the chessboard, 30 minutes into the game ||

Thirty-minutes into the chess game... AND I'M LOSING TO A CHILD!!!!!!!!!! How was he able to counter all my moves and surround my knights and take them down?!?! This is utterly frustrating. I think he was able to catch on to my frustration... Because I saw him sneering at me in a smug way from the corner of my eye.

"Ah... Miss Evelyn, You look rather frustrated.. Is there something on your nerves?" He said in a smug tone of voice, It was clear that he was rubbing it in because I was losing the game.

"Not at all..." I said while moving my knight diagonal 2 steps; only for him to knock my knight out with his pawn.

He looked up at me and smiled, I scowled in disbelief at him.

Not that long after he had checkmated me... And I had lost the game..

"It seems you have lost this fair game of chess... But out of dear charity.. I will help you find your family. As earlier I recall telling you that I am a bit 'curious' If Lady Adalynn is still alive..." The Young Earl said motioning for Sebastian to clean up the chessboard and to put it away.

"... Thank you for your kindness... But may I ask one question..?" I said curiously.

"Go ahead..." He said.

"Why are you so interested in my mother?"

"I already told you. Lady Adalynn needs to return to her duties." He said standing up from his desk to walk me out of his office.

"Is that your only reason?"

"Yes, now go back to your duties." He said, pushing me out the room.

"But I-" He had already pushed me out the room and I decided I might as well go back to my duties.

|| In Ciel's Office ||

Sebastian looked over to Ciel who was now sitting back at his desk.

"That is your only reason for helping her find Lady Adalynn?" Sebastian asked politely.

"...Lady Adalynn... Was my Mother's best friend..." Ciel said fiddling with his blue gemmed ring.
