The Young Lord looked at me with a blank expression on his face, and said nothing. As if he was expecting me to countine reading what was in my hand out loud to him.
"Did you lose your place as you were reading? Or was what you were reading too loathsome to be read out loud?" Ciel commented as he pulled off a smug look on his face.
"No... not at all."
For some reason, even though he was helping me Whenever he had the chance to make fun of something I did or be sarcastic he took that chance-
"Good. Then I expect you to keep reading then."
I took a deep breath in ready to tell him no but then I remembered that would only prove that I'm a coward... I sighed and restarted my sentence that I was reading.
"Betrayed the Queen's trust and her dignity...By laying down with the k-king of england. Adalynn... Crevan... was a lady of the royal court and the best friend of Queen Victoria....." I looked down and stopped reading.
The young earl sighed and gestured for Sebastian to take the paper away from me to give to himself; so he could read it to himself.
"Hmph... This doesn't quite give us any clue to where she could be. It just tells us that she was unfaithful to the queen. I mean... Unless she was executed. But let us not give up hope just yet. Sebastian, Go through her records of where she was last seen. Evelyn, You should look for your father's record. Perhaps you might find him and he could know where your mother, Adalynn Crevan, is." The Young Lord said calmly.
The Young brat's words hit me like a mullet to the head. Executed....? If she was executed wouldn't the public know about it? But at the same time nobody knows that my 'Family' takes care of business for the royals; so I guess the royals could get away with an execution easily if they wanted. But what did my mother possibly do to be, "Unfaithful", to the queen? Did she say something that she wasn't supposed to? Or did she... Nevermind that. I wouldn't want to think that my mother is a bad person without solid evidence.
"Yes, My Lord." Sebastian cooed one of his more recognizable quotes.
I chuckled softly to myself and then just simply nodded and continued to look for my father's record.
|| Time: 11:45 am || A few hours ago... In the Young Earl's office||
"Sebastian. Make sure that she won't find her father's files."
"Yes, My Lord..... If you don't mind me asking... Why would you want to do that?" Sebastian turned to the Young Lord.
"As you know, The person she described to be her father, sounds a lot to be undertaker. If it is him, Why should we let her find that out? So that she may slip out the palms of my grasp?"
"Heh... I do believe that some things are better out of your hands, Young Lord. Do not take this the wrong way but if you keep a dog on a leash for too long, some decide to bite you. Isn't that true...now?"
The room fell silent so quiet that you could hear a pen drop from a mile away. The young lord looked away from Sebastian and back to his work.
"Just go carry on with your work. We can discuss this later. Just make sure she doesn't find any of her father's files on the first day of searching."
"Yes, My Lord.
|| Time: 3:00 pm ||
"Evelyn- I mean, Lady Claire; We've been searching for hours now, Have you found anything on your father yet?" The young lord asked while reading a newspaper.
"No. I haven't. It's almost like some of the files on my family have been removed somehow. I suppose you wouldn't have anything to do with this.. Correct?" I said while still looking at the files for the 'Crevan' family.
The Young Lord glared over to me and looked over to Sebastian, completely ignoring my question. I sighed and looked over to Sebastian since he seemed to have found something that is of our interest.
"Well... So far I have found out... What your mother did to betray the queen." Sebastian said, handing me the document to read.
"Thank you." I said and stared at the document ready to read what my mother had done to deserve such a title.

Sorry guys for the long wait for this chapter! And I'm sorry that it's a bit short. I had to deal with some personal issues lately. And yes- I am 100% evil for leaving you guys on a cliffhanger after so long- But don't worry the next chapter will be out soon!
