Bella stepped over a pile of boxes to get into her new bedroom. She looked out the window to the backyard below. Cheetos, her little red hamster, was running around in circles looking for, well, Cheetos. The little pet hamster seemed very happy e the move.
Bella wasn't so sure yet.
Part of her was excited .She was going to have a whole new life, and there would be a million things to discover in a new town .But mixed with the feeling of excitement , there was just a part of her that was just plain nervous.
Bella had always felt shy with people until she got to know them. And when she started at school tomorrow, she wouldn't anyone.
Bella then heard the heavy footsteps of her father , while he walked up the stairs.
"What do you think sugarplum?" he asked his daughter as he leaned against the doorframe to her room.
Bella shrugged."It's a nice room Dad," she said. "But it just doesn't feel like it's mine."
"You have to give it some time, Bella," he said, tapping a box. "When you've unpacked your clothes and toys , it will feel more like home."
"You're just trying to get me to do all the work!"
"Now, would I do such a thing ?"
And with that statement he left.
Bella picked up a box from the top of the stack and plopped it down on the carpet.
Inside were all the posters , gifts and stuff from her old room.
She sorted through from boxes to boxes , while sorting she stumbled across a box that wrote 'special' . Bella wanted to know what 'special' was so she bent down , sat in a crossed legged form on the floor. Then opening the cardboard box to reveal old pictures of her mother and their family. Like the actual three of them all together. She was so beautiful and kind.
"You have your mother's generous eyes , those beautiful hazel eyes that she owned you inherited them." "Or your lovely smile , there's so much things about you that takes me back to the time I met your mother."
As much as Bella loved her mother, she did not like the way that her father always talked about her, like an exciting topic. It was an annoying habit.
Bella did not respond towards her father's words. To her no response was needed.
Her dad continued speaking saying," Oh , sorry ." realizing he annoyed her. "Oh , I know the perfect thing to cheer you up . Umm where's Mr. Fluffkins you love Mr.Fluffkins ." He immediately started to search .
"D-dad " said Bella trying to stop her father. Her father still didn't listen. "Dad !" Bella shouted finally catching his attention ."Dad , I think I need some alone time, to just you know , umm .....well adapt, to the environment.OK dad."
With those few words Mr.Goodworth nodded and left the room. Bella was a little stressed for her outburst.
Suddenly, she knew what would make her feel more at home.First, she put up a picture of her mom and more family pictures above her bed. Dad went up on the wall beside her.
Bella had even put up posters of her favorite bands , I mean if you have lots of pictures that you've probably haven't seen in years since you were a kid , why not just stick them on the wall.
Bella looked through the box again.
She could hardly believe some of the pictures. There was even a giant sized teddy bear poster that would definitely , positively not be getting a space in her new room. Bella had to sort through a lot of pictures and old clothes to toys that she had outgrown before she had found the painting that she was looking for.
When she found it, she sat on the bed to study it.
Her mother drew it. It was a picture of of Bella.
Her mother as father said was a true artist , and seeing as though Bella loved to draw , she probably got it from her mom.
Bella had then gently placed the drawing on the end of her bed and had hanged her clothes for school tomorrow , then leaving to go eat with her father at the dining room downstairs.
