ALTHEA'S P.O.V.

I opened my eyes to find myself still on the sofa. I lifted my head and rubbed the back of my neck, cracking it to the side a little. "Ugh." I groaned slightly before noticing a note on the table. I slowly picked it up and began reading it.

Hey,

You fell asleep... Again. So did I, the project is still on the desk. I left at dusk and made sure nobody saw me. I figured you wouldn't want to have to explain that to your friends. I'll see you at school Hamilton.

"Ugh." I groaned again before grabbing my phone and checking the time. "CRAP!" I almost shouted. I then jogged to my bedroom where I grabbed the first outfit I could find. I quickly got dressed into the first outfit I pulled out of my wardrobe which consisted of a pair of denim shorts and a cropped hoodie, I then pulled on some wedged hi-top trainers before dropping Theo's note on my bedside table.

I ran downstairs, grabbed my bag and ran out of the front door before locking it behind me. I then got into my car and began the drive to school.

I parked up in the parking lot before climbing out and heading into the building where I met up with Angie and Kaia. "Hey, you made it!" Angie laughed slightly. "Yeah." I nodded. "Only just. I swear I ran a couple of red lights on my way." I added with a sigh. "How'd things go with Theo last night?" Kaia asked. "He left not long after you guys did." I lied as I saw someone coming from the principals office. "Okay Chloe, that's your schedule. Here's your locker code. We look forward to seeing you progress here." Mrs Martin said with a smile. I watched as she walked out of the office, her long wavy hair was bouncing as she walked, "Thea, we have to get to class." Someone said as they clicked in front of my face. I shook myself out of my daze and nodded, "Yeah, okay."

We began heading to class and I glanced back, just in time to see Theo walking over to the new girl. 'Of course, preying on the new meat.' I thought as I rolled my eyes. That was until I heard them talking, "What are you doing here?" Theo asked. "Attending school." Chloe replied. I stopped at the corner and continued listening to their conversation.

"You shouldn't be here!" He told her. "Why not?" She asked. "They're hunting chimera's. Scott and his pack, you need to leave." He told her. I frowned slightly, "Do they know about you?!" She asked. "No, and they're never going to. Do not say a word, Chloe." He replied. "Then don't get me killed or kicked out." She retorted before walking away. I frowned slightly before continuing on to my class; AP biology again.

I took my seat and glanced at the door, waiting for Theo to come in. He soon arrived and took his seat next to me. "Mrs Finch..." I began as I raised my hand. "Yes, Miss Hamilton?" She asked. "We're on the topic of DNA today, right?" I questioned. "That's correct." She nodded. "What's it called when a person has more than one set of DNA in their body?" I asked. "We usually call that a Chimera." She replied. I nodded, "Thanks." I smiled. I could feel Theo's eyes on me but I didn't look up. "I got your note." I mumbled to make him less suspicious of me. "Thanks for not staying log enough to be caught." I added. I saw him smirk and nod, "No worries." He replied as we continued working on our school work.

It was soon free period, I was heading over to the lockers when I noticed the new girl having trouble getting hers to open. My locker was right beside hers. I leant over and punched on the door a couple times which helped her to open it. "I had that one last year." I smiled at her as I opened my locker. On the inside of the door was a picture of my father, I smiled slightly as I placed some books inside. "Thank you." She soon smiled at me. I smiled back and nodded, "No worries." I replied. She then noticed the picture in the locker, "Is that your dad?" She asked. "Yeah." I nodded with a smile. "He's a cop?" She questioned. "Was. He died in a werewolf attack a few years ago." I replied. "A werewolf attack. They're still attacking humans?" She asked. "They weren't after the humans, no. They were after taking down two packs." I replied. "It's a long story." I shrugged as I closed my locker door before turning to her with a smile.
