Chapter 5

Jeff's POV

Smile sprawled on the muddy ground his black blood covering some of the glittery pink leaves , his eyes opened wide as If he was traumatized to death . I'm not a caring man , emotions , in my opinion , are like an anchor that promised endless drowning . a killer cannot dawdle on emotions , weakness is not an option . And even though I did feel a certain attraction to Alex , I planned on killing her when the time is right , killing her will also kill all stains of emotion that she so cluelessy brought upon my heart . But for now I keep her around , everyone likes to feel loved , at least for a period of time so I keep her happy and translate my mixed emotions towards her in the form of love .

However right now , one of the only emotions I'm aloud to have , anger , was turning into a forbidden emotion , something a bit less dangerous than love , Sadness .

Smile wasn't dead because Smile Dogs don't die , but it was obvious that whoever did this to him , put him in that petrified -similar to death- state , made him suffer and more importantly , being petrified means being in tremendous pain till you wake up .

I called the others and they helped me move Smile back to his home , a small cave made out of cold damp rocks , his favorite place to be . Hoody alarmed the council of course and no action was to be taken till they declared their verdict . We were forbidden to use the TheoArbus leaves until they decided what to do , which means that until further notice , there was nothing we could do about Ben .

Sadness was slowly turning into a wild desire for vengeance , whoever did this to my dog was going to pay in blood .

When we got back to the treehouse , something felt wrong . The couch was slashed and cotton was sticking out of it's cushions , the tv screen was smashed , the coffee table was broken into tiny little pieces of wood, and loud cries could be heard from one of the rooms . Ben's room .

"Guess Sabrina's here ." commented Jack.

"Yea no kidding Sherlock ." I answered sarcastically .

I considered calling Alex to drive me home , cause i really didn't wanna deal with the mess Sabrina is right now , but then I changed my mind considering that a little walk could do me some good , better not meet my girlfriend while I'm still filled with a murderous rage .

Alex would be my only consolation right now , I started walking faster , dying to get to the relief she would bring me . Though I didn't know if i loved her or not , I knew she loved me and I knew that she would make me feel better . There was just something about her holding me that made me feel warm inside . Maybe I was such a pathetic creature that I would throw myself in the lap of the first woman willing to give me some sort of affection that resembeled maternal affection .

I walked through the front door , and into Alex's room . Deciding that tonight I will go out and figure out my feelings once and for all , even if that means Cheating on Alex .

Emma's POV

The first thing I noticed when I got home , after my date with Chris , was Jeff charging down the stairs , barely acknowledging my existence , passing me , bumping into my shoulder , and leaving . Where he was going ? well I normally didn't care but this was my bestfriend's boyfriend and I had a feeling that he was up to no good .

"Where you going ?" I asked before he could step down the stairs of the front porch .

"None of your business ." he answered coldly .

"Alex is my best friend so it is my business ."

"No it's not ." He spat , And then he sped up to a run , avoiding any further conversation .
