Messing up

One

My name is Emily Ross, but my friends call me Em for short. I'm just a small town girl from Illinois. I'm not the best kid you'll ever meet though. My school that I go to is kinda bad and that's where I get my bad habits from. I don't drink or smoke a lot but when I do I go over board. Yeah I'll admit to it and I want to stop but it's pretty hard. I mean try it, it's tough. I'm a senior in high school and I graduate in a few weeks. Then I'm off to California for beauty school. I have a house picked out and everything there and my parents are paying for it until I get a job and enough money to pay for it myself. I'm really excited and ready to meet new people too. Oh and my friend Kaitlyn is coming with me but she has already graduated 2 years ago so shes a few years older and she's finished all the college that she needs. She also went to beauty school but here in Illinois.

*a few weeks later*

Today Kaitlyn and I are sending our stuff in a Uhaul truck to California and we are taking a plane in a couple days after we say our goodbyes and I finish my last day of school. I'm so ready to get out of this school but I might miss it a little or maybe not miss it but I'm gonna miss a lot of my friends here. Tomorrow is only a half day full of finals. The first final is my lunch hour so I don't have to go early so I get to sleep in and only take 2 finals after that.

•I don't know how often I'm going to be able to update but I'm trying and this is my second fanfic but I got too stressed on my last one and deleted it because I hadn't updated it in weeks. So here's this one. I hope it better! Sorry this chapter is so short it's kind of just an introduction to the story. Also the name of the book might change but I don't know what to yet•
