The days passed. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Karen and Scott's relationship had reached unscaled heights of love, and the boys, well, never mind.

As it turned out, Zia loved Franklin. As in, yeah, not his company or skills, but him. Took him a while to recover from that shock.

Ben and Kevin used to drop in occasionally, telling stories of their heroic adventures to their friends, including Zach and Gray. Sometimes even Zara, Masrani, Zia and Franklin used to join in the storytelling fun.

Claire was hanging out with Jason, and she would be lying if she said that she didn't like him. But the fact was that her painful times with Owen were something she needed to brush off, but had a hard time doing so.

Owen himself enjoyed his times with the raptors, and Barry. These days, he felt a stronger affection for the raptors, now that he had lost Claire.

But fate willed otherwise.

On the 17th of Feb, Claire and Jason had finished off with lunch, and they were heading off to their offices. The same time, on Isla Sorna, the leaves of the dense jungle which Alan Grant had explored nearly 2 decades ago, started shaking. From all the foliage, and into the water, swam a gigantic creature, with a sail on it's back.

The Spinosaurus was coming to Isla Nublar.

--

But that's another story, because on Nublar, it's 18th, and our main duo is drifting apart.

Not cool.

Franklin and Zia had 3 dates by now, Ben was already popular among the people for the first time in 6 years, Claire and Jason were getting more attracted towards each other day by day, and Owen was busy having fun (or atleast he's trying; reminds of 'Atleast I'm trying, you can't run from everything Owen') with the raptors. He never had so much of free time to personally bond with the raptors, either due to disasters, or Claire. And the 2 were rather conveniently linked.

At night, Jason and Claire were coming home from dinner. As Claire reached the lobby of her apartment, where she had spent so many wonderful moments with Owen, Jason walked up to her and their lips crashed.

His hands were on her waist, and her hands around him. It was passionate alright, but we're more used to such instances when the man in question is Owen, so, not exactly the same feeling.

Nevertheless, Claire loved that kiss (uh oh my readers) and she went up to sleep.

The days came and went (repeat that twice). Same for the routines, and soon, the date everyone was waiting for (and Owen dreaded) came: 1st March 2020. Ms. Claire Dearing was set to become Mrs. Claire Martinez. If she changed her surname, that is. The fact was that Jason was sweet enough that he would love it if Claire didn't want to change her surname. She didn't.

Okay, so cut that Martinez, and replace it with Dearing, my dear readers.

The wedding hall was in full preparation. The guests were Karen, Scott, the boys, Ben, Kevin, Lowery, Vivian, Masrani, Zara, Franklin, Zia, (you guys), Barry, and of course, a certain Owen Grady.

But Owen wasn't sure that he would survive the wedding, or atleast, go through the whole ceremony without breaking down or some other mental disaster (there's that 'd' word again). But he decided to go. For Claire.

He put on a dashing Tom Ford suit. No, the Tom Ford suit . The very one he had worn the night Claire told him Sydney's story. No goosebumps, he warned himself.

The guests started arriving. Zara, Zia and Franklin in their best wear, Ben in a suit that had the teenage girls falling for him, Kevin in a suit that Ben had given him for a dance at Gwen's school (Save The Last Dance), Masrani in his formal yet wonderful suit (looks like all the boys were attracted to suits anyways). And then our man stepped in.

Owen's Tom Ford suit had everyone (even Jason) blown away. He was amazingly dashing. Claire was going to get ready, when she saw Owen in his Tom Ford suit. She remembered that night; thinking about it moved her to tears.

"You look amazing Owen," Jason remarked.

"You are no less," Owen said with a chuckle. "I'm so happy for you." As they embraced, everyone was going about their business, but while Ben and Kevin were chatting with Zach and Gray, he excused himself for some work. The trio was rather puzzled, but continued chatting nonetheless.

Claire had been talking with Zara, but hadn't had the courage to walk up to Owen. However, the man made the decision for her.

Owen walked up to Claire. People who noticed must have felt mixed; on one hand, Owen certainly was happy with Claire beginning that important chapter in life even with someone else; on the other hand, the fact that a part of their hearts wanted Owen to be the soon-to-be-husband and not Jason was completely shattered.

In short, whoever saw this, didn't want to miss what could be the final moment Owen could see Claire. Because they feared that Owen would just die of grief without Claire by his side.

"Hey," he greeted Claire with the style of a gentleman.

"Oh hi Owen. Love the suit," she remarked, trying not to invoke memories.

"Yeah, I actually wore it before that day you, told me about Sydney.." he looked down, trying his best to not let his heartbreak show.

"Anyways," he exhaled deeply with a chuckle. "I love your dress."

"Thanks."

They just laughed, but not out of happiness. It was just a small laugh, and Owen then whispered, "Congrats again." He didn't have the power to say anything, least he should burst out crying.

"Well, see you around Claire." Well, he could say that anyways.

Meanwhile, Ben was looking at the sky on the helipad. Suddenly, dots appeared on the sky, which turned out to be drones, He smirked to himself, and brushed off something from his hair.

The hair itself.

In it's place was white hair, and the green jacket was replaced by a red one. It was Albedo.

After the drones were close, he finally muttered, with no one in sight,

"This is the end of the Nublar Empire."
