"Dawn? I did not expect to see you here again. After all, just last Saturday you told me you'd quit drinking" a voice said, one that the said woman was not very sure whether she felt happy or annoyed to hear.
The tall woman rolled her eyes. "Just get me the damn usual, mistress" she replied, eyes not even looking at the bartender. Instead, her eyes were wandering around, looking around the dimly lit room.
Dawn suddenly felt chills down her spine. She turned around, only to see the curly haired, cheerful bartender grinning at her, leaning on the counter, face so close they could smell each other's minty breaths. Dawn's favorite drink on her right hand. "Looking for your next target?"
"You say that like I'm some sort of fuckgirl, mistress"
"Oh oops, are you not, Dawn?"
The woman simply rolled her eyes at the reply. No use replying to that. She isn't completely wrong anyway.
Like the usual Dawn she is, she immediately fought with her own mind. I'm not a fuckgirl though? I don't even actually fuck them. I've never even kissed them. It's their damn fault for wanting to do more.
Shaking her head, trying to remove those thoughts she found annoying, Dawn tried to focus more on the vibe of the club while waiting for the alcohol to actually hit her.
But it seemed like someone else was about to hit on her.
"Hey, I've been eyeing you for a while now" a woman with a bun on, a slit on her eyebrow, with piercings and jewelry all around her greeted.
That has got to be one of the worst lines I've ever heard. Ever. Dawn thought. But oh well, she was never the type to straight up ignore a person even though she didn't actually take interest in them.
She smirked, "So I caught your eye? You have good taste. You don't look so bad yourself"
"Well... I'm not so bad in bed either" the other woman said, hand exploring Dawn's body until it reached her inner thigh. She leaned closer, mouth close to Dawn's ear. "I'm Jade"
Damn. I know I'm a switch but I really am not in the mood to bottom. She thought. Actually no, I don't want to fuck.
Suddenly, someone else appeared. "Hey. Jade right? Yeah I fucking heard you. My friend here is not interested. Yeah I know she fucking flirted with you but I'll spare you the heartbreak honey, you won't end up with her in bed. Now let's go you dumb fuck"
Pulling Dawn's hand, the shorter girl with long wavy hair lead her to a group of people who were playing games.
"Damn, I was just about to have fun, Jess" she said. "By fun, you mean make them hope they're leaving with you but in reality you're just going to leave them hanging while they're wet as fuck" her best friend answered.
The taller woman simply laughed at her best friend of 10 years. She knew her very well after all.
It was actually quite mesmerizing how she decided to be like this. Back then, Dawn was known as the lesbian who gets all the girls, even making the straight women with boyfriends question their sexualities. It was also known by everyone that her body count was decent despite her taste being specific when bringing someone to bed.
That was exactly how she was, until Dawn met her.
Ah, her. She who basically changed me.
They were freshmen when Dawn first met her. They've known each other since senior high, but didn't really mind so much about each other's existence. It was only during college that they got close.
It started out as a joke. Dawn was already known for having so many girl friends that she called names like "babe" or "baby." No one really knew if she actually was single or not.
But then at a house party, when the lights were dim and the whole place was buzzing, Dawn noticed a guy cornering a woman, and the whole thing obviously did not look like both parties were happy about it.
She overheard them.
"Quit joking around. I don't like you" the girl said loud enough.
"Oh but baby, I can make you feel really good. Just trust me on this one" the guy said, voice so low, desperately trying to make himself sound sexy and hot. But in reality, he only sounded like a guy with a really bad cold.
Dawn wondered whether she should help her out or not. Will this benefit me? Will I regret this? Is this really how I think it is? What if they're actually a thing?
Making a mistake about this situation was not something Dawn intended to do. Mistakes were not to be made.
And yet she decided on the option that she considered was her best mistake.
And even when she thought about it now, this is still her best mistake.
Walking over to the two, Dawn put her arm around the woman.
"Baby, what took you so long? I was waiting for you you know" Dawn said, looking sweetly at the girl, trying to comfort her, reassure her, and send her signals.
The confused girl only blinked her eyes multiple times, not being able to process a thing.
"Is she really your baby though? Come on girl I can actually provide you dick, something she can't give. And plus Dawn, don't you have plenty of girls to fool around with already?" the guy said, hand slowly reaching out, about to hold the other girl's shoulder.
She made her arm who was on the girl's shoulders to move backward, so that Dawn would be in front of them and the girl would stay behind. Suddenly getting pissed off, Dawn tried to calm herself down. "A dick is a body part, not a personality trait bro. Get your hands off her"
The guy was not about to back out. "Yeah a body part homos like you don't have" he answered, laughing. His hand reached out once again, reaching for the girl's shoulder.
This time, Dawn did not hesitate to become a little physical. She slapped his hand away, not afraid to start a fight.
Eyes looking slightly up, for the guy was taller, but the height did not distinguish who was going to win this. Her glares were enough to scare just about anyone. When Dawn glared at someone, it was said that it felt like burning up. Voice slightly deep, left arm removed from the girl's shoulders, now in front of the girl, like as if to protect her.
"I told you to get your fucking hands off my girl, is that too hard for your pea sized brain to understand?"
Ah fuck, why exactly am I remembering this shit? I need to drink more. The current Dawn thought.
She downed a few shots, a few more than few shots. Her best friend of course, noticed this sudden behavior.
"You're thinking about her" the shorter girl said.
"Am not"
"Dawn. I know you too well. You can't lie shit to me. Do you miss her again?"
The woman gulped. Does she miss her?
Do I miss you?
"You okay? I'm sorry you had to go through that" Dawn said, checking if the girl she was previously trying to protect is okay.
She nodded with a smile on her face. "Thanks Dawn"
She tilted her head to the side, "You know me?"
"You're pretty popular"
Dawn chuckled. "Am I really? I wasn't aware" she paused for a while, then continued with a "So are you telling me your name, or am I just gonna have to continue calling you my girl?"
The other woman laughed, her pretty dimple showing, and Dawn swore she heard Cupid's little arrow going "bathump" as it hit her.
"Selena"
"Selena" Dawn repeated. The two shook hands.
"It's nice to meet you"
"It definitely feels nice to meet you too, Selena"
Yup. I need more drinks. The current Dawn thought, shaking off her thoughts. Or maybe not, these drinks are making me emotional.
