"Go on!" Stanley urged, his facing looking upwards, "Dunk it!"
He was talking to, of course, was his and Mike's adopted daughter; Molly-Rae. A passionate young girl, whom of which the couple had decided to adopt a few months into their marriage. Immediately welcomed into a beautiful home, Molly-Rae had reached the age of four.
As the early morning sun glistened through the trees, Mike held his daughter upon his shoulders; his thumbs supporting her waist as a disproportionate basketball was held in her hands. The two neared the basketball hoop before Molly-Rae plopped it in and it fell to the ground. From the sidelines, Stan clapped joyously, and Mike helped her down from his shoulders.
"Great work, honey," Stan congratualated her, pulling her into a comforting hug and lifting her off of her feet a little, "It's nearly time to leave for schoool - you ready?"
"Yes, yes, yes!" The exciteable girl recited, clapping her hands together after every word.
"Alright, Molly," Mike chuckled, "Go get your back, yeah? Daddy and I'll get the car started."
"Okay!" She squeaked, rushing back into the house. Stan watched on, happily, and Mike put his arms around his neck.
"She'll be so good," Mike whispered into Stan's hair, causing a tickle and goosebumps to rise.
"I know.." Stan agreed, as she came running back out with a large bag strapped to her back, "Come on, Miss. I'll buckle you in!" Molly-Rae did as she was told, rushing into the back seats of the car and nearly thwacking herself on the head as she did so. Mike smiled on for a moment, before climbing into the car himself, and turning on the ignition. Finally, Stan climbed into the passengers seat and buckled himself in, before looking back at his daughter, who had an enormously wide grin stretched across her face.
"And then after school, Uncle Richie, Eddie, Bill and Ben are coming over. And Auntie Bevvy," Stan informed her, to which she clapped again.
"Yay!" She squealed, "Let's go, let's go, let's go!"
Mike obliged, reversing out of the spot on the driveway and driving up the street. After a few moments of quiet, Stan turned on the early morning radio; and the sweet symphony of Fleetwood Mac filled the car. Mike and Stan had raised their daughter well, and she was joyous to animals, music and all things nature. The trip was only short, walking distance, as a matter of fact - but the two decided to escort her there together.
"Alright baby," Stan said when they reached the Kindegarten area. He lowered to his knees to be the same height as the girl, and took her small hands in his larger ones, "You have a fantastic day, okay?" She nodded, smiling.
"Yeah," Mike said, putting his hands on her shoulder, "We love you very, very much. And we'll come pick you up later."
Molly-Rae nodded again.
"You have your snacks and veges, and a cold water for when you get thirsty," Stan informed her warmly, "And your bird spotter's guide.." He continued, but his voice trailed off as Mike sent him an eyebrow raise, "But that's not essential."
"Come on," Mike said, holding her hand as Stan took the other. Together, they lead her into the area as other kids ran around happily, "Have a good day, Molly-Ray." He said, as she giggled. Each of the men pressed a kiss to the opposite cheek, before letting her run off to talk to the other young kids. Then, Mike and Stan intertwined their own hands.
"She's going to do so good," Mike said, almost wistfully.
"She'll be perfect," Stan replied.
