(Flashback) Leslie, still in the car surrounded by the dead, decides that she needs to get out of there. "Okay. Okay okay okay. It's going to be okay." she says as she takes a few deep breaths. She takes her gun back out and she drops the magazine down to check how many bullets she has, and it's surprisingly a lot. She pushes the magazine back up into the gun as she takes a deep breath in while leaning the back of her head against her seat, while now holding the gun with two hands, as it's pointing to the roof of the car. "Well......here we go!" She says as she pushes the door open, also pushing most of the dead to the ground. She puts her arm up to shoot one that's coming towards her, she's interrupted by gunshots in her direction, killing the dead near her. As soon as she heard the gunshots, she put both arms up in front of her face, in hopes of protecting herself. She puts both hands down after the shots stop. But behind her she hears a dripping sound coming from the car. She quickly realizes it's leaking gasoline. "Oh shit!". She yells, running away, as she is blown further from the car when it explodes. Leslie is passed out for a second, but she then wakes up in time to turn over while still on the ground, to see the dead slowly approaching her. She struggles to reach for the gun on the ground. Just as she reaches it, she picks it up and points it at the closest one, but right as she's about to pull the trigger, her eyes grow extremely tired and her arm, along with the gun, and her head, falls to the ground. Everything goes black again, but she's still slightly conscious. She suddenly hears gunfire and opens her eyes slightly, just enough to see that the dead in front of her are dropping to the ground. She continues trying to open her eyes to stay awake. She then sees a figure running towards her. The figure takes her gun and picks her up using one arm to support her legs, and the other to support her shoulders and head. She then passes out, while being carried away by a complete stranger.
Leslie wakes up to see the girl from the camp. “Good morning”, she says. Leslie is pretty banged up, and is unable to fully understand what’s going on. “I’m Gwenevire. Gwen, for short. My friend from the camp earlier, his name is Alex. We didn’t mean to hurt or scare you, but Alex didn’t think someone like you would come willingly, considering you hid from us as soon as you heard our car. He’s the one that knocked you out, but if I could take it back then, trust me I would”. She says using a meaningful voice. "As for the crash, well, that was a pure coincidence. It was someone from this community, but it wasn’t planned. Sorry, I feel like I’m rambling. I just wanted to explain before you start freaking out again. Sorry”. Gwen says as she’s now cleaning the wound on Leslie’s head. “Did you say, community?” Leslie asks, looking up at Gwen. “I did. My dad owns the place. It kind of makes me feel like a princess, knowing that my dad’s the one in charge, you know?”. She says, looking around the room. “Why were you guys so eager to bring me here?” she says, confused. “Well, we’re trying to build a community, so we look for the strongest people, or the ones we think could survive on their own and, well, we thought you fit that description” Gwen says, rolling her eyes a bit. “I should let you rest. You got hit pretty hard, after all. I’ll turn off the light on my way out. You should sleep, I know that helps pass the time” She says, heading towards the door. Leslie nods as Gwen turns out the light, before leaving the room. Leslie lays in her bed for a few minutes thinking and trying to comprehend what’s happening, but before long, she starts to drift off yet again.
(Flashback) Leslie wakes up with a head injury, as she now has a medium sized scratch on the left side of her forehead. She sits up slowly and looks around to find herself in a bed. She gets out of the bed and searches the room for something to use as a weapon but she then realizes that her backpack and gun are just sitting on a chair beside the bed she was in. Confused, she picks up the gun and puts the bag on her back. She then slowly makes her way out of the room, holding the gun in case she is attacked. She looks through the entire house, but just as she's walking into one of the rooms, she sees what she thinks is a person. Little does she know it's just a dummy. She slowly approaches it with her gun in hand, ready to shoot. She then hears a noise coming from behind her, through the silence. She's instantly suspicious so she lunges forward before quickly spinning around with her gun to see a guy about her age. She pulls the trigger without thinking about it, but the gun doesn't fire. She turns it sideways, looking at it in confusion. The guy puts his hands up and starts to speak. "I just wanted you to trust me so I gave you the gun, but I also wanted to be cautious and, let me just say, I'm glad I was". He says with a hint of humor in his voice. "Do you have a name?" He says as he tilts his head slightly. "I'm Jesse".
